Why should you choose Solaric? What are the Solaric steps in getting your own solar system? What distinguishes Solaric from other solar companies?

CONTACT SOLARIC

Zero electricity bill

Browsing through your social networks, did you suddenly get interested in solar and want to know how it works? We got you. You may reach our hotlines at 75040092, 09178603141 or 09083775577, or message us on our Facebook page. Solaric agents will ask you common questions about the daytime appliances you use, how much your electric bill is, your roof type, and location. Right there, an agent can give you an initial recommendation on system size and estimated cost.

SCHEDULE A SITE SURVEY

A customer asking for a site survey

There is no one size fits all. We customize solar panel systems in accordance with the needs and power consumption behaviors of our clients. An essential step of the process is the site survey. You may request a site survey from our team and we will send Solaric engineers at a day and time of your convenience. The site survey is free for houses and businesses within Metro Manila. Onsite, the engineers determine your power consumption, assess your roof, examine your electrical system, measure the distance of the cable run, and identify possible tapping points and inverter location. Then the engineers prepare a site survey report, with a recommendation on the solar system capacity and solar PV design. This report and PV layout are sent to our Sales team, who now prepares a proposal for your solar system. The proposal is sent to the client within three days from the date of the site survey.

INSTALLATION

Once you have selected the best option for you, we will now move forward with contract signing, document submission, and payment. We schedule your installation with our solar installer experts. The Solaric installers and electricians head on to your house to install your solar and the timeframe to complete installation varies, depending on your roof type, chosen solar capacity, and other various factors. Rest assured, our team works quickly, seamlessly, and efficiently.

AFTER SALES

THE RISKS ARE HIGH: FACE MASKS IS LIFE

A man wearing a face mask amidst COVID-19

UPON RE-ENTERING THE BATTLEFIELD, YOU MUST BE A PREPARED BIOLOGICAL SOLDIER

We are now on Month #2 of the COVID-19 #lockdown.

As a PCAB-registered energy provider, we take our jobs and your safety very seriously. We are still on standby to keep our solar installations ONLINE and always ready to keep the kWh going on at the front lines.

Since #ECQ is extended to the end of the month, we would like to share our #pandemic Safety First work posters to remind us of the basics of how to disinfect and prepare for going back outside to a brave new world. We’ve included decontamination procedures, traveling tips, and basic infectious disease protocols.

Citizens, Stay At Home!

Posted by Solaric Philippines on Thursday, April 9, 2020

To this day, we implore our citizens to #StayAtHome. You’ve got to keep it to “essential movements” only and exercise your best judgment. Do not send the whole family out to get food – instead, choose the most able-bodied member to do so. It’s literally a viral war zone out there. Just get your stuff and zip back home ASAP, and make absolutely sure you do not bring the coronavirus home. Elderly members are strongly advised to stay at home and delegate shopping tasks to younger members, or even neighbors.

The risk of infection is high, chances of death are very real, and surviving this lockdown needs preparation, skill, and avoidance of undue risks.

Stay Safe From COVID-19

Posted by Solaric Philippines on Thursday, April 9, 2020

Here is what we know of this enemy: the Coronavirus COVID-19. It basically enters our bodies through the Nose, Eyes, and/or Mouth via respiratory droplets, secretions, and secondhand touching. Coronavirus has a weakness: it depends on having a lipid layer to keep it intact, thus it is easily dissolved by exposure to alcohol or soapy water. The virus threat is invisible at .3 microns. Even cautious health workers catch it by subconsciously touching their nose or eyes. That is why having the mere face shield and goggles is life, and social distancing is crucial.

One of our homegrown procedures is disinfection by using a diluted bleach solution to spray on footwear, our welcome mat, and even outside our vehicles. We refer to it as a HAZMAT chlorine solution foot bath. Our vehicles are sanitized first thing in the morning and upon its return to office base at the end of shift. Every day, throughout this war of COVID, carry a small personal spray bottle of alcohol with you to constantly disinfect. Spray your hands and your phone very often.

We hope our COVID survival tips work out for you. We are waiting for the lockdown to get done with because we’ve got lots of work to do and we’ve got to #TurnOnTheSun.

Therefore, treat the outside world like a warzone and be as prepared as a soldier entering a biological battlefield. Wear your mask, don protective outerwear, always be using your alcohol, and decontaminate before entering your home.

TO OUR VALUED SOLARIC CLIENTS DURING THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN IN METRO MANILA: STAY AT HOME

A family staying home because of the quarantine

PLEASE STAY AT HOME. #Netflix and Chill, and forget about your electric bill if you’ve got #Solaric on your roof.

These are trying times. At Solaric, we are called on to keep the lights on, keep systems running, and maintain a number of mission-critical energy systems with our battery + solar setups. Most people know us for our residential and commercial #solar systems designed to save money and protect the environment.

Solaric During Times of Crisis

Solaric workers installing solar roofing

Our bread and butter is reducing electric bills and providing the #Filipino people with an energy alternative. We thank you for making us the nation’s number one choice for solar. At this time, we will be quite busy doing hospitals, even under the shadow of the COVID threat.

Relatively less known is our “Bawal Brownout Systems”. The military and civil defense users of Solaric deploy our Lithium+Solar systems to keep mission-critical command and control systems online, and hospitals use our Solar setups to augment their generator and grid sources. For these clients, it is not just about the cost of power, but the availability of power – especially during times of crisis.

In The Face of COVID-19

Solaric Electricians

To those who have been following us through the years, you know that our first installation jobs in the Philippines were civic in nature, right after the Yolanda typhoon. We were tasked to energize relief centers and a public school with donated manpower and equipment. Now, in the face of the COVID threat, we are seeing the end results of an environment disrespected, wildlife abused, and a novel Coronavirus pandemic released.

In the interest of health and safety, the bulk of our sales teams have been working from home, working social media and not the usual hand-to-hand social contact. However, our vital Energization and engineering teams are working round the clock servicing the needs of our clients that have our 24/7 power systems, including a hospital that is bulking up their energy reserves for this VIRAL threat.

A Call For Patience & Understanding

Solaric Technicians installing solar panels

Patience please, dear clients, if we cannot survey your home or business during this enhanced community quarantine, but we would rather keep your family and our Solaric team safe with a little social distancing.

Our country needs us and we have to channel our limited manpower for vital energy projects needed by our nation in this time of need.

To our thousands of valued clients, please reach out to our work-from-home Customer Service if you have any issues or concerns. We are still online and have emergency technicians on standby. Netflix and refrigeration chill with Solar, after all, is a vital tech necessity in this lockdown.

Stay Safe, Be Smart, and let’s work together in waiting out this storm.

WATCH OUT FOR FAULTY SOLAR SYSTEMS FROM BOGUS AND ROOKIE SOLAR INSTALLERS!

Electrical short and a small fire

Solar energy is indeed a gamechanger from the traditional sources of energy. Solar panels harvesting the sun’s energy and converting them into an energy that can be used in the home or business shows us that the sun is definitely a valuable resource. The two-fold end results are monthly financial savings and environmental protection. However, with the solar industry booming, new companies are entering the market using substandard equipment, employing inexperienced personnel, and delivering poor workmanship. These end up in faulty solar systems. You do NOT want to take such risks.

“Installing solar is a serious business. It is something that should only be done by the experienced and the skilled. Fake solar panels or improperly installed panels – these are serious hazards that can cause fires and disasters. Choose a solar provider that knows what they’re doing because electricity, power, and energy are serious matters. Do your research on experience, reputation, services, reliability, testimonials, everything. Why do I insist on that? With six years of Solaric doing solar, we have been asked to come and repair solar disasters of other companies, hundreds of times. The mistake can be very costly, because we have to remove panels, wires, inverters, and replace them. It is double the work. So do not make the same mistake,” stresses Mike De Guzman, President of Solaric Corp.

Making the decision

You have to be able to detect the scammers, newbies, rookies, fly-by-night companies, and such. How? Here’s a short list to remember:

  • They make promises that seem illogical, impractical, or out of this world
  • They charge much lower prices than competitors
  • They have very few client testimonials available with the media
  • They do not offer top-quality equipment
  • They have a questionable background
  • They ignore you after you have paid for services
  • They do not have a physical office address
  • They do not have corporate bank accounts and accept cash only
  • They do not have an after-sales service or customer care department

There are many other signs that indicate the illegitimacy or scam nature of a company or organization. It is best to always do your due diligence when engaging a company for its services. The best way is to exhaust your own personal network of their own experience with the company. Word of mouth and personal connections in this day and age are the most valuable references when making business investments and decisions.

EQUIPMENT

Rooftop Solar

In choosing solar equipment, prioritize solar panel efficiency, manufacturer reputation in the market, warranties against industry average (10 to 25 years), and compare the cost to relative efficiency. The most efficient equipment is not necessarily delivering the best value. Always consider cost-effectiveness. Take note of risks because defects, repairs, underperformance will add costs in the long-term.

COST

Zero electricity bill

Expensive solar panel systems do not necessarily mean that they are the best. Likewise, cheaper solar solutions are not necessarily the ones you should get. Make sure to invest in Tier 1 panels, reputable manufacturers of solar equipment and inverters, and only choose those that come with warranties.

WORKMANSHIP

Solaric's Solar Installation Class

Choose a solar company that employs solar installers and electricians with years of experience under their wing. Poor workmanship results in exposed or undersized wirings, and these result in electrocution and fire hazards. All installations must be executed in accordance with the standards of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC). Make sure your solar company of choice knows exactly what they are doing, with people with the right credentials and expertise.

Look for a solar provider who you can trust, equipped with solar experience and can design and personalize your solar system in accordance with your needs and requirements.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST SOLAR PANELS PROVIDER: IS CHEAPER BETTER OR IS BETTER CHEAPER?

A solar panel provider educating future handlers

When buying a car or a property, you always try to look for the best and highly-efficient product for your needs. The same applies when looking for a good solar provider. Solar does not come cheap and is considered a long-term investment, which is why it is important to look for a reliable and reputable provider.

A Home with Solar Panels: Click here to view a Makati residence with a 36.48 kWp rooftop solar system and is experiencing savings of approximately Php25,000 to Php33,000 each month.

Look and research

Commercial building with rooftop solar panels

Like any investment, it is best to conduct thorough research and study when looking for a potential solar provider. It is recommended to look for someone with guaranteed solar expertise and experience. A solar system is guaranteed to last up to 25 years and more, which is why it is important to look for a reputable solar company that can deliver turnkey solutions and the full potential and promise of your solar panel system. It is also critical to consider the company’s profile: how long they have been in the business and the number and variety of projects installed. The best place to search is online for easy access to reviews and recommendations, and through friends and referrals.

Beware of bogus providers

A criminal scamming people online

Do not be fooled by the easy and lower prices. Cheaper is not necessarily better. Things may come cheaper, but then other factors are at times compromised: quality, warranty, aftercare or maintenance service. It is critical to ensure that you select a solar panel solutions provider that is easy to contact, quick to respond, offers answers and solutions, and can deliver tailor-made solar panel systems that are based on your specific needs.

Quality vs. cost

A building with solar panels on its roof

As a client, you have the right to choose what kind or brand of panels and equipment you want for your system. Your provider might give you initial recommendations. Cheaper equipment and materials may look good upfront but may underperform and compromise your efficiency and return. Look for a solar company that can provide you with Tier 1 brands at reasonable prices. Explore your options. If you do not have a particular brand in mind, consider asking them what will fit your priorities the best. Some panels might be more expensive as they offer longer warranties or more aesthetics. Weigh your options before deciding.

SOLARIC DELIVERS JOY TO THE CHILDREN OF CARAMOAN

Solaric President in front of a school

The Bawal Brownout Christmas Gift

BMW Owners Society of Safe Riders (BOSS) donating televisions to a school

On November 8, 2019, members of the BMW Owners Society of Safe Riders (BOSS) and volunteers from Solaric Corp. headed over to a place that was more than 500 kilometers away from Metro Manila – Caramoan Central School in Camarines Sur – to deliver joy to its 946 students.

The BOSS Riders distributed 48-inch TVs for every classroom of the school, along with school supplies, backpacks, and many more kits and essentials for the students. The teachers were also given gifts of appreciation. Meanwhile, Solaric turned over a 1.08 kWp Hybrid Solar Panel System with 2 units of 24V Lithium batteries to the school, with the system capable of powering the entire computer lab. The students and teachers were filled with joy to receive the bundle of gifts from both organizations.

Solaric’s Corporate Social Responsibility

Solaric President receiving gifts

Solaric President and CEO Mike De Guzman said, “When I was thinking about our Christmas CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activity, I thought, ‘ano pong magandang donation ang mabibigay ko sa ating mga kababayan’? Magbigay ng kuryente sa mga lugar na walang kuryente o maraming brownout.”

“Far-flung towns, especially those facing the warming Pacific, are subject to wilder weather, super typhoons and blackouts that last weeks or even months. Since ignorance grows where the lights darken, we decided to contribute our special talents and skills to energize this chosen public school with a Bawal Brownout computer lab and combine it with the multimedia endowment of the BOSS Riders that modernized the classrooms with 48″ flat-screen TVs and devices loaded with digital lesson plans,” he added.

So that is what the management and employees of Solaric Corp. delivered: a Bawal Brownout solar system. The 1.08 kWp hybrid solar PV system consisted of four solar panels, two lithium batteries, and an inverter. The solar solution now powers the computer lab of the school. A total of 946 students benefit directly from the Solaric Christmas donation.

Powering School Computer Labs

A man installing solar on a rooftop

Caramoan Central School Principal Dr. Oscar Parola said, “Alam mo, ang dami daming dala ng grupo ninyo (referring to the BOSS Riders and Solaric personnel), tuwang tuwa yung mga bata. Pati mga teachers ang daming pasalubong. Nagpapasalamat talaga kami sa inyo!”

On November 28, 2019, upon the site visit and technical inspection of the Solaric team, the school offered a warm and gracious welcoming ceremony for the rooftop solar company. During the early morning flag ceremony, De Guzman gave a short inspiring message.

“How did we power a public school? We fastened 4 solar panels in our proven typhoon-proof fashion, installed a hybrid off-grid inverter and our two advanced research 10-year Lithium batteries. Our engineers designed a Solaric solution to provide enough juice to keep the laptops, tablets, and computers running in the computer lab during normal days and during times of crisis. The power solution has the capability to charge at least 400 cellphones or power banks when it is the only source of electrical power around. Yes, we can deliver power in the very darkest of situations. That is what Solaric is all about,” said De Guzman.

“Even if there are typhoons, you will still have power,” he enthused.

The Aftermath of Typhoon Tisoy

Aftermath of a typhoon on a school

Then, in the first week of December, Typhoon Tisoy struck and devastated Bicol. In the disaster’s aftermath a few days later, there was no electricity in several provinces in the region. In Caramoan, there was no power – people could not charge their phones, they could not communicate with relatives, they could not turn on the lights. The town was surrounded in darkness.

However, at the Caramoan Central School, there was power. People flocked to the school to charge their phones and call their families.

“Every child deserves to wake up to a special gift this Christmas. Thank you to the ongoing kindness and goodwill of all our clients, dealers, partners, advocates, and personnel, because it is through them that we are able to turn on the sun, each and every day, one rooftop at a time,” said Jade De Guzman, Vice President of Solaric.

“We are very much grateful for the donation of the solar panels with batteries and installation. When there was no power, the system could even power two aircons at one time! Solaric – the best! Maraming Salamat!” grinned Principal Dr. Parola.

That is the power of turning on the sun.

SOLARIC IS THE SME

close-up shot of solar panels with the blue sky and white clouds above shown

In the small world of the Philippine Energy Industry, Solaric is regarded as “The SME” when it comes to consumer Renewable Energy. SME is typically referred to as a Small to Medium Enterprise in the business sense, or it can also mean the Subject Matter Expert on specialized technical fields such as power engineering and government policy.

The Industry Leader on Solar

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) sought out our comments to improve Net Metering earlier this year to make it more inclusive and attainable for the common Filipino. By simply installing one roof at a time almost every day for the past 6 years, and training others on how to install, Solaric has become the industry leader when it comes to consumer rights and the expert on coming up with no-nonsense solutions to make our country more self-reliant and sustainable in this climate-uncertain world.

We are proud to be of service by offering services that cut installation costs drastically, eliminate frivolous fees, define workable solutions, and reduce red tape to make Net Metering a realistic alternative – even for the everyday working Filipinos in socialized housing. “Sa halaga ng Iphone, kaya namin ipasolar ang bahay..for the next 25 years,” said Solaric CEO Mike De Guzman.

The History of Solar

A solar technician's hands screwing a bolt into a solar panel

In the past, it took months or years for a utility company or electric cooperative to grant a permit to install solar panels. Rejections were based on various “technical reasons” and there were even downright refusals by uncooperative electrical cooperatives. Now, however, under the restructured ERC and under Chair Agnes Devanadera, there is now a mandate for solarized homes as part of our nation’s answer to growing its energy supplies: Malinis na Enerhiya Mula sa Mamamayan, Para sa Mamamayan.

The Accessibility of Renewable Energy

Indifference, delays, and impunity of the giants no longer have a place because the consumers now have a victory. It is now by law that a permit has to be granted within 20 days. It is now a legal practice that “study fees” can no longer be charged by the utilities to go solar (Distribution Impact Study fees are now shouldered by the utilities). It is now cost-feasible for a factory worker to own a solarized Pag-Ibig funded home, and his wife can wash their clothes and cook food using solar energy with excess power to spare that gets sold to the factories via the utilities. Those installations by itself are small but give the biggest differences in quality of life. These are real economic opportunities now gained by millions of Filipinos.

The Future of Solar

A large number of solar panels scattered and organized in a field

We have to work smarter, use all available resources, and be wiser in the face of the climate change battle. Our fight is far from over as there are forces who do not want their “oligarch ways” challenged, but as sure as the sun comes up, we are working on transitioning our country from a coal-pa-more society to a newly industrialized nation who has its say on where and how it gets its energy.

GUILT-FREE AIRCON: It All Started in Tacloban After Yolanda

GUILT-FREE AIRCON

Manila, Philippines

January 18, 2019

The first Solaric home

The case study is a 300 square meter home in an exclusive gated subdivision in Makati. It was the summer of 2012. Mike De Guzman, President of the premier solar panel distributor in the Philippines, Solaric Corp., conducted a site inspection. It was hot, as the summer sun’s rays bombarded its 39-degree Celsius heat on the Southeast Asian country. The homeowner resorted to using electric fans. When asked why, the environmental hipster replied, “Dahil mahal ang aircon. Kahit na global warming, hindi ko sinisindi ang aircon.” She was a conservative one, as she went on to explain that she brings “bayongs” while shopping because she was careful to avoid using plastic bags. She recycles everything down to bottle covers.

Lightbulb moment

This was the birth of the guilt-free aircon concept of the Solaric Founders. “I wanted the average Pinoy to turn on the aircon anytime he wants to. I wanted to solve the problem with brute force through the power of solar. From my experience supplying batteries for the data center of my call center, I knew that storing and discharging power from a battery costs more than using power from the utility itself. On the other hand, running aircon on lead-acid batteries would be cost-defeating. I wanted a solution that would work – and I knew that solar was the answer,” declares Mike.

In 2013, the price of solar panels crashed because of China. Solaric purchased inverters and solar panels online at decent, affordable rates. Solaric received its first pallet of panels.

“Based on memory recall, extensive DIY experience, training videos, and self-education, I hooked up 12 large solar panels to the inverter. It powered the aircon and other appliances. Then I looked at the electric meter. In utter amazement, I watched it move backward!” Mike exclaims.

What was happening was that the solar-powered the aircon and was pumping another 1 kW or more back to the grid. That was Mike’s eureka moment. “I felt like I struck gold. Running free aircon in the Philippines is like having a car that runs on water!”

It became the first house on net metering in the Philippines

Solaric then contacted Meralco and requested for Net Metering, a provision of the Renewable Energy Act that mandates utilities to credit excess solar power against consumption. The reply of the Meralco employee was, “Ano? Net ano?” She was a representative of the utility and even she herself hadn’t heard of such a thing. Perhaps supplying power behind the meter is something that the utility had never considered as part and parcel of their business plan. It was a long process at the time, mainly because it was very new to the utility company. It was new to the nation. It was new to the City of Makati too.

Solaric began to lay down the groundwork

The Solaric team went through the motions of proving that solar was safe and feasible. Things slowly started moving. Then, Typhoon Yolanda struck. We received reports that there was the total destruction of the electrical grid in Central Visayas. There was a communication breakdown. People could not contact each other. Due to the absence of power, hospitals were affected. Infants were dying because incubators and ventilators could not work.

Mike decided to put his experience into application. He made a solar generator to conserve fuel and produce consistent power. He created an Improvised Charging Device (ICD) to power up communications gear and laptops. The concept was clear, but building portable stand-alone units had yet to be done. Mike went on to convert a Land Rover roof rack into a solar generator on wheels and cobbled together random electronics for the first responders to bring to Visayas. The equipment was transported to Visayas and tested. It was functional and effective. Then it died due to overloading.

Solaric hauled all its solar panels and supplies that were allocated to its first two clients, and brought all its startup assets to Tacloban. There was no question about it. The call to duty was first and foremost. The Philippines was in the midst of a crisis. Solaric launched its first official project and made self-contained solar power systems, and installed them where there was absolutely no power.

The rest was history

Solaric delivered over a dozen self-contained cell phone charging stations all over the Visayas region. Each station could charge over a hundred phones a day, which was essentially a big deal for areas that had been dark for weeks. With a working phone, people were able to call to reassure concerned loved ones that they were surviving the devastation. They were also able to report missing family members and emergencies.

It was a 5-week assignment into the towns most devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. Mike states, “It was like a scene from a zombie apocalypse movie. All the houses we passed were destroyed. Tacloban was a large city, the jewel of Eastern Visayas, and it looked like it got hit by atomic warfare. Every building and every tree were damaged destroyed. There were mass graves all over the place. We salvaged what we could find. We soldiered on because everyone had lost the strength to do so. We turned over our solar off-grid energy systems to random constituents, simply because they needed them.”

“In Malapascua, I saw an elderly old man suffering from an asthma attack, and he was getting a breath of a now-operating nebulizer from our jerry-rigged solar setup. That was the reward – knowing that we had contributed to helping save the lives of our fellow countrymen.”

Turning on the kindness

These human acts of kindness were witnessed by the world. People started tuning in. People started following Solaric. Love and kindness are contagious. The figures jumped to over a million views on Facebook. People began talking about solar being a practical solution – a reliable and affordable power alternative.

Back in the city

When the crisis was over, Solaric returned to Manila and continued their work and passion for turning on the sun. Persistence paid off when the very first net metering installation in the country was issued to the homeowner through the coordination of Solaric. Fast forward to 2019, Solaric, the most reliable solar panel distributor in the Philippines, is now the leader in rooftop solar. They provide the best solar power solutions to clients all over the nation, with a maximum return of expectations and exceptional after-sales service.

That was the humble beginning of Solaric. They delivered practical solutions in extraordinary circumstances and turned on the sun when there was nothing but darkness.
