MY MONTHLY ELECTRIC BILL IS 20K: SHOULD I GO SOLAR?

Close up of an electricity bill

What going solar really means

Shot of a home's roof with solar panels

Going solar is the new trend. It has become a lifestyle – one that has captivated Asia: go clean, green, safe, sustainable, and renewable. Solar panel systems can definitely reduce electric bills by 30% to 75%, increase the market value of your property, reduce your carbon footprint, and help protect the planet. The question, however, is: should you go solar?

Ask yourself the right questions

Going solar is not a simple initiative. There are many things to consider before making the decision. If you are uncertain about whether to go solar or not, here are the main questions to ask yourselves. We want to help you make the best decision.

1. Do you want to use the power of the sun?

The sun shining

The Philippines is a tropical Southeast Asian country. The average home in the Philippines receives an average of 4.5 hours of sunlight per day. This means that if you live in the Philippines, then you are certainly one of the very best candidates in the world for solar. The sun is a free, unlimited energy resource, and it is going to continue to shine for the next 5 billion years. The first question is: do you want to use the sun’s power? If yes, then proceed.

2. Do you want to reduce your bill?

This also comes with the fact that the Philippines is plagued with constantly increasing power rates. The average electricity price for homeowners is, to date, the second-highest in Asia. Each year, the power rates soar. The demand increases, the supply decreases, and the generation charges continue to climb. It is time to seriously ask yourself what your energy goals are. Why do you want to go solar? Is it because you want to reduce your monthly electric bills? If yes, then by how much do you want to reduce your monthly bills?

3. Do you want to eliminate your bill (or do you want a Zero Bill)?

Close up of electricity bills in its envelopes

If the answer to question #2 was yes, then it is time to examine further and ponder this question #3. There is a major difference between the two questions. You will have to decide which direction you want to take because your answer will determine the next steps. Once you’ve decided whether you simply want to reduce your bill or if you’ve decided you want to get rid of your bill altogether, then it is time to move on to question #4.

4. Are you willing to invest in a system that will give you an ROI of 5 years or less?

If you have a roof, you can go solar. If you want to reduce your bill, you can go solar. If you want to eliminate your bill, you can go solar. This question, though, is now about the investment. With any solar investment, the typical return on investment (ROI) is five years or less. This makes it a wise investment – not just financially, but environmentally as well. You have to be willing, ready and prepared to make that investment. The 5-year ROI does not even take into account the credits you may generate from exporting your excess power to the grid through the net metering program. With that setup, we’ve seen solar clients achieve ROI in 3 years. If you consume all the power that your system generates, you will still achieve ROI in 5 years or less. This makes the investment a win-win: economically profitable, payback guaranteed, and environmentally responsible. Most people say that when you go solar, the system pays for itself in the first five years. In the succeeding 20 years, the system pays you.

5. Do you want to protect the planet?

A hand holding the earth

Going solar used to simply be about being financially sensible and being practical. Now, however, it has become a serious advocacy about clean energy from the sun. If you install rooftop solar, your home will be a powerhouse that will combat greenhouse gas emissions. You will reduce your carbon footprint on planet earth. How? With solar, you would be less dependent on your utility company, which burns fossil fuels to produce electricity. If you solarize your home, then you will be a renewable energy source. This translates to the fact that you will be directly contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world and future.

If you answered YES to all five questions above, then you are forward-thinking and embracing the energy reform decade. It also means that you are ready to go solar and it will most definitely be a worthwhile endeavor and investment for you.

Introduction to Solar 101 and 202 Installer Classes

solar202-solar-panel

How to create value is the best way to start a business.

The installation of solar power, together with the price of solar panels in the Philippines, has come down so low these days that any business or astute homeowner should start counting the wealth of energy that falls on their roof and use that to pay down the electric bill.

Using solar energy to fuel your own personal power plant is is the ingenuity and adaptation that drives the Filipino Economy for self reliance and lower energy costs.

It is in our nature to create value in everything we do. Installing solar and paying less than P2 pesos a kWh is just smart since there is no escaping an electric bill until now and burning more coal these days is just dumb.

At Solaric, we are realists and renewable energy professionals. We have a different approach in bringing mass adaptation of Solar throughout the Philippines and that is through our Solar installer and pro user education programs called Solar 101 and Solar 202.

Our graduates have powered entire factories and many homes with our Philippine solar power systems and designs from straight from class notes and our renowned engineering support to confidently energize your project.

In the past three years we have condensed a weeklong US solar installer training program and experience of doing hundreds of installations into a weekend seminar covering theory, practical design, system sizing, safety and live installation of real gear.

Pertinent topics that cover the Philippines such as black out run capable systems, ROI calculations, and Net Metering so you don’t have to buy batteries are discussed in an open forum manner.

These are topics that any serious businessman or astute housewife should know before spending thousands on a solar system that can power a refrigerator to an escalator.

Our Solar 101 and 202 seminars is a semi technical course that allows any college level person or engineer to understand the practical aspects of Philippine solar systems and how it can economically bring down electricity bills, replace diesel generation and most importantly teach the average consumer or policy maker on what type of solar system to install in a no nonsense non biased manner.

Grid tie, off grid and the latest Lithium Hybrid systems are discussed at length and a graduate of this course can figure out what solar solution would best fit their needs and how not to waste money on common mistakes. Our solar 202 graduates start businesses with our preferential industry pricing which is too low to print to purchase solar panels and other gear without the burden of stocking inventory.

Thousands of people from all walks of life- Housewives, business owners, Energy managers, and even other solar companies have made this a popular course over the past 3 years. Every chapter and page of content of this class is based on practical or actual experiences in solar projects in the Philippines.

Yes, it is uncommon for a company to divulge trade secrets in its operations but we are a rather unconventional and our energy source is truly universal.

Our view is that quality fundamentals and techniques are needed to make renewable energy grow in sunny Philippines and that is how we put a little Solaric install in every island.

How to Get the Best Deal in Our Solar Panel Priced in the Philippines

How to Get the Best Deal in Our Solar Panel Priced in the Philippines

How to get the best deal in solar panels priced in the Philippines? Learn how it works, find out what is the best setup for your needs and even learn how to install it by yourself via our Solar 101 & 202 seminars.

The use of solar energy to replace or reduce paying for grid power is relatively new and not yet fully understood by the general public but without a doubt is much cheaper than paying for utility as it lasts for decades; and has no moving parts and packs more than enough power to run multiple air cons with our scorching Philippine sun.

It is rather unusual that a solar installation company teaches its “trade secrets” on how solar works and connecting it down to the nuts and bolts level. At Solaric, we have a different philosophy on how we do business. Solar energy could never be monopolized, controlled by the oligarchs, but an energy resource that is free to all. We simply teach how to harness it, make it run our electrical appliances that make our modern lifestyles possible, and in some cases produce ZERO electric bill.

The language of solar derived electricity is rather simple but implementation a little bit complex to some as it needs fundamentals in physics, energy, mechanical, and even political considerations as we connect it to the national grid that needs our excess power, especially when it’s hot.

We have come out with a single weekend seminar that allows homeowners, business men, and even professional electrical engineers to grasp concepts that are unique to Solar PV and what it means to bring down their electric bill or run a remote off grid installation.

Since not everyone will be installing their own setups, it is divided into two segments, Solar 101 and Solar 202 workshop.

Solar 101 is an 8 hour class that covers the basics of electrical energy, Volts, Amps, Kw vs Kwh to ensure the class has a firm grasp of electrical ABC’s, then midday into the technical and sizing ratios of the number of solar panels to kWh demand. In the afternoon, we will be discussing different types of solar systems, installation pitfalls to watch for, and how to get net metering so you don’t need to waste money on short lived batteries.

To register, please log in to this page.
On the other hand, Solar 202 works on the theories from 101 but progressively more technical with wire sizing calculations, voltage matching, racking of solar modules, and live wiring of systems. This is compulsory training for those wanting to buy solar equipment but without prior solar experience, or seasoned practitioners to level up with globally accepted safety standards.

Online Registration is on this page.

How effective is our class?

Attendees can determine what size of solar works best for them and have us install a system at discounted prices worth much more than the P5k seminar fee. This is how smart homeowners get solar installed at lower than published prices, learn what they need from their own calculations and matched to their lifestyle.

The cost for the seminar is P5000 for Solar 101 and P5000. Solar 202 graduates will have access to our installer component rates and after sales tech support to get their projects going. For information about the upcoming seminar dates, you may click here.

We have been running this seminar for three years and the current result is MWh’s of clean renewable energy produced every day and casting doubt on a feasibility study for another polluting coal plant.

Celebrate the New Year by Being Informed About Solar Systems in the Philippines

Solaric Solar 101

2017 is a new year, which means that there is never a better time for you and your business to invest in renewable energy. We highly advise for you to learn the core fundamentals of solar power, particularly the ROI mathematics, so you can make informed investment decisions and calculations. In Solaric, we teach various people how to utilize safe solar energy through their various solar systems from the Philippines in the most cost-effective way by doing it yourself or by having enough knowledge to direct your friendly electrician.

Check out when is our next Solar 101 and 202 seminars by clicking this page.

Solaric, the foremost rooftop provider of solar power in the Philippines, has been teaching others the basics of PV solar. Our Solar 101 and Solar 202 seminars are the must attend resource to train energy industry executives, equipment brokers, bankers, policy makers, budget astute housewives, tech savvy prosumers, and even other solar companies (overtly or covertly). We aim to educate them on how to safely put in solar as well as demystify what solar can and cannot do in an open and easy environment.

For more details about the seminars, you can visit this link.

The cost is P5000 per day. With this rate, you will gain practical knowledge, which beats 300 hours of Google searches—this is a guarantee!

You might ask, why would a solar company teach potential competitors on its business? The answer is simple, really. There is NO way a single company can provide renewable energy to a growing nation of 100 million people, going renewable is a social philosophy that we embrace and something that has to be done to mitigate climate change that is ruining our country.

Solar power is now cheaper than coal; it provides a meaningful step in providing clean, cheap, and infinitely renewable power to fuel our homes, industries, and aspirations. However, it relies on technology, meaning the knowledge of science and ratios is needed for its proper application.

Another query you might have is, why do we go out of our way in holding these seminars? For this, we say that as a system integrator, we are also called on to fix other people’s builds; and we see on a regular basis solar builds that were built wrong, have undersized wiring, have oversized sales pitches, or (more critically) experience electrical safety considerations, which had been blatantly ignored from sheer ignorance.

As a solution, what we do is to enable the intrepid entrepreneur, the business owner, or homeowner design, build, analyze, and in some cases install their own solar projects like a boss.

The Solar 101 seminar goes over the principles of solar, how much solar is just right, and when is it probably too much (because there is such a thing). The computation of Return of Investment and the technicalities of getting Net Metered installation and how to make the utility buy back your excess power, so you would NOT end up buying batteries.

solar202-solar-panel

Solar 202 seminar, on the other hand, is the application of all theories from the previous seminar. We will be going over installer specific discussions such as tapping points, wire sizing, mounting and positioning techniques, important system voltage calculations, as well as tackle questions regarding HOW all of these could be utilized in your own home, business, or even utility scale solar farm.

People, who pass our Solar 202 class, are given dealer/installer access to our installer only price list as we are assured that basic safety considerations were covered and understood by the participant. We rather sell high powered solar panels and inverters to those who understand and respect the power of electricity—it’s really heart breaking to see thousands of pesos spent on equipment destroyed by an untrained installer.

With Megawatts of purchasing power of top shelf solar equipment, we bring down costs of solar products to our seminar attendees and, of course, to our customers.

Benefits of Going to the Solar 101 and 202 Seminars

Benefits of Going to the Solar 101 and 202 Seminars

Start a new business or install solar panels priced in the Philippines at the least possible cost by doing it yourself.

At Solaric, we trained over a thousand people in our solar 101 and solar 202 seminars; and its starting to change the rooftop solar landscape in the Philippines. Our independent dealers and installers can be found all over the Philippines, taking solar from fringe to a mainstream source of energy.

In just one weekend, we share our know-how to build solar systems, help you avoid palpak builds, and sizing them to perfection.

You might be asking, why are we sharing our trade secrets? The answer is simple: here in Solaric, we want to jump-start the solar industry, especially since climate change is now becoming more of a reality.

Our “trade secret” is our guiding philosophy: Design and build every system as if it’s our own money in the line; that’s how we started, and that’s how we do it.

Sorry, but we do NOT do free “Sell-Me Na-rs.” We value your time and this is not a mindless seminar to sell you equipment, but rather for you to make an informed choice over the many types of PV solar systems in the market and get you in the “know” how it works before you make a decision.

Our serious clients always look for meaningful content and for that we have to give a quality seminar that has the consumable equipment, textbooks, expert instructors, and plenty of real-world experience from our battery of engineers.

The event costs P5000 per day and is divided into two segments: Solar 101 and Solar 202. For more information when’s our next seminar, click here!

Solar 101 and 202 Seminars

For those on a budget, one free advice we could give is for you to make a quick trip to our showroom during weekdays.

You do not have to be an electrical engineer to comprehend this seminar, but you should at least be a high school or college graduate as we are doing some high school math and a little algebra on some of our computations (aside from the usual business math).

Our two-day Solar 101 and 202 covers the mechanics on how to integrate solar panels to any electrical system—from ice plants to a small residential project. Salient details on how solar works, how to pick solar panels like a pro, computation for return on investment, and things to watch out for when installing high powered solar systems are covered in length.

Who attends our seminars, you ask? We often have astute businessmen, energy executives, Solar farm designers, Energy companies, homeowners, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and solar companies, who want to be well informed, as our audience. This means that you can expect meaningful, professional content.

Certificate of completion, hot meals, and chances to win great prizes on the raffle table are included.

There are discount vouchers worth more than the entrance fee, and attendees of the 202 workshop are privy to installer rates for key materials if they decide to get into the business.

Our Solar 101 course was developed with input from experienced solar installers, who come from around the world, that have practical experience in doing hundreds of rooftops in the Philippines. Although this does not mean they are not comprehensible to the common man, businessman, and appreciable to even the most seasoned electrical engineer. In fact, it’s the other way around.

Solar 202, on the other hand, is for people who want to go to the next step and get into the boots of an installer for a day. They will be wiring up live systems and watch the electric meter spin backward with our ERC-approved grid tie methods.

Graduates of 202 are then given full access to our arsenal of Solaric tested and approved materials such as Tier 1 solar panels, off grid and grid tie inverters, lithium, and non-lithium batteries at industry insider rates to grow their business.

Solar seminar

How successful is Solar 101 and 202?

We measure our seminars’ success through our attendees’ success, and they alone have installed thousands of Solaric products and solar panels all over the Philippines.

Almost every day a new house or business somewhere in the Philippines goes online from Solaric-trained installers and dealers.

From Luzon to the farthest corners of Mindanao, we are turning the lights ON, lowering bills, and bringing smiles by using eternal sunshine.

At Solaric, We Turn On the Sun and Brilliant Minds!
