FROM 11K TO 3K: OGIE & HIS 9kWp GRID TIE SYSTEM

FROM 11K TO 3K: OGIE & HIS 9kWp GRID TIE SYSTEM

In 2019, our client’s average bill for his residence in Parañaque was 11k monthly. He initially installed a 5kWp, and after seeing his bill drop, he installed another 4kWp. The total capacity is now a 9kWp Grid Tie System. Equipped with their rooftop solar power plant, the family uses Unli-AC and never have to worry about power usage and consumption.

Ogie wanted a company that could deliver on the promise – a company that carries Tier1 panels and top quality brands, one that is reliable with a solid reputation. His goal was a drastic drop in the electric bill in 2019 which ranged from 9k to 11k each month. Daytime appliances include aircons, lights, refrigerator, TVs, computers, and swimming pool.

Fast forward 3 years later: “With my 9kWp system, my bill ranges now from Php3,000 to Php3,200,” says Ogie, yet another satisfied client of Solaric. “My savings each month is Php6,000 to Php8,000, so I’m very happy. The Solaric team is very efficient!”

Lower Bill vs Zero Bill

Think about your end goal when choosing to install solar. Do you want to reduce your bill? Or do you want to ELIMINATE your bill? At the bare minimum, you should put enough solar to cover the usual daytime appliances of the entire household.

Go Green, Go Renewable

When you get your own solar power plant on your rooftop: you reduce your electric bill expenses, AND you reduce your carbon footprint – which means that you are helping protect the environment. A typical Solaric system eliminates more than four tons of CO2 per year which is equivalent to planting 50 trees each year. You become less dependent on traditional sources of non-renewable energy.

ZERO BILL FEATURE: GERRY & HIS 12.4kWp GRID TIE SYSTEM

ZERO BILL FEATURE: GERRY & HIS 12.4kWp GRID TIE SYSTEM

Solaric can absolutely deliver the Zero Bill promise. Just ask Gerry Vaño, another satisfied Solaric client.

In an exclusive, gated, private neighborhood of a quiet subdivision in the South, stands the majestic, beautiful, 500 square meter, 3-bedroom contemporary Filipino-style solar home of Gerry – one of our very first Zero Bill clients. Since 2018, he’s been enjoying the happiness and rewards of a #ZeroBill. With a 12.4 kWp Grid Tie System installed on his roofdeck, his monthly bill went from 11k to ZERO.

In 2017, Gerry decided to install solar panels. He approached Solaric and they conducted a comprehensive site survey. His household appliances included a washing machine, dryer, two refrigerators, two water pumps, three television sets, 11 air conditioners, and a home theater. His electric bill amounted to an average of 10 to 11 thousand pesos each month. Solaric offered an array of solar options that would give him optimum power at the lowest cost. Gerry selected efficiency and long-term financial feasibility by having 40 rooftop solar panels installed (12.4kWp).

A couple months after installing solar, Gerry received his first Zero Bill (total amount due was Php0.00 in his monthly electric bill). “The moment the Net Metering kicked in, I got a Zero Bill. Then, all succeeding months were all zero bills!” exclaimed Gerry, as he showed us his stack of zero bills accumulated the past year.

When asked to discuss the profitability of his solar power system, Gerry paused for a moment’s reflection. “Yes, I’m able to save 10 to 11 thousand a month. But we don’t talk about ROI (return on investment) in these cases. Anong ROI in buying an expensive car? Pogi points!” Gerry laughed in amusement. “It’s really about utilizing whatever is renewable, and solar was the only thing that was feasible. I’ve been planning on installing solar even before the house was constructed.”

The Zero Bill Phenomenon

The Zero Bill Phenomenon

Gerry brings the zero bill phenomenon towards the limelight. “What does the zero bill mean to me? Sure, one part of it is about savings – I have a monthly electric bill that says zero. It makes everyone in the house scream with happiness. On the other hand, my investment pay-off is renewable energy. Sustainability. I care about the environment and the planet. This is my contribution to saving our future. That is what makes solar worth it!”

How To Choose The Right Size For Your Solar System

How To Choose The Right Size For Your Solar System

The best investment you can make this year: rooftop solar. Investing in solar is the smart solution for homeowners and business owners. Solar is easy to maintain and operate, plus it comes with long-term performance (25 to 30 years) and lowers your carbon footprint.

You would want to know how to correctly size your solar power system so you can achieve your goals and make the most of your grid tie solar system.

STEP 1: DETERMINE HOW MUCH SAVINGS YOU WANT FROM YOUR SOLAR

STEP 1: DETERMINE HOW MUCH SAVINGS YOU WANT FROM YOUR SOLAR

This is an important first step. You should define your financial goals (how much savings you want). Are you looking at 30% savings? 50% savings? 75% savings? Or are you looking at getting that coveted Zero Bill? This is also in line with several other factors, such as budget, rooftop space, location, power consumption patterns, etc. The goal is to size your PV array to achieve your end goal.

STEP 2: ANALYZE YOUR POWER CONSUMPTION PATTERNS

STEP 2: ANALYZE YOUR POWER CONSUMPTION PATTERNS

Different households or facilities use power differently. There are some households with children in the home all throughout the day, using power in a homeschooling setup. Other households have no one in the house during the daytime, and most power consumption is at night time. When the Solaric engineer conducts a site survey or site assessment, all these factors are considered, along with other elements such as rooftop space, shading, etc., prior to preparing the design of your solar system. There are various constraints on every project and such restrictions affect design and system size: budget, space, and energy offset. We want to design and build a system for you that offsets a certain percentage of your nighttime power consumption.

STEP 3: CALCULATE YOUR kWh USAGE

STEP 3: CALCULATE YOUR kWh USAGE

Your usage in kilowatt-hours (kWh) can be obtained from your electric bill. It is ideal to provide copies of several months of bills to our engineer, so that they can be analyzed. Energy spikes and consumption are usually highest in the summer, with heavy use of aircons and appliances during those months. The most ideal way to determine your average monthly kWh usage is to add up your kWh consumption for 12 months, then divide the figure by 12 to get your average monthly consumption. Divide by 30 to determine your daily kWh usage. Another way to determine your usage is to use your appliances and plug them in a power consumption table. Alternatively, our engineers can also check your basetime loads during their site assessment.

STEP 4: CALCULATE THE SIZE OF YOUR SYSTEM

Once you have determined your daily kWh power requirement, divide it by the Peak Sun Hours of your location to get the kW output. From there, we can identify how many solar panels you will need for your system, that is in line with your end goal of going solar.

STEP 5: CONSIDER OTHER FACTORS

Lastly, it is also crucial to fine tune the system design. Other factors should be taken into account, such as the mounting system that will be needed for your rooftop, the direction the panels will face, surrounding trees or elements that may cause shading, equipment type, conduit run, net metering requirements – all these play a vital role in finalizing system design.

SOLARIC IS THE SME

close-up shot of solar panels with the blue sky and white clouds above shown

In the small world of the Philippine Energy Industry, Solaric is regarded as “The SME” when it comes to consumer Renewable Energy. SME is typically referred to as a Small to Medium Enterprise in the business sense, or it can also mean the Subject Matter Expert on specialized technical fields such as power engineering and government policy.

The Industry Leader on Solar

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) sought out our comments to improve Net Metering earlier this year to make it more inclusive and attainable for the common Filipino. By simply installing one roof at a time almost every day for the past 6 years, and training others on how to install, Solaric has become the industry leader when it comes to consumer rights and the expert on coming up with no-nonsense solutions to make our country more self-reliant and sustainable in this climate-uncertain world.

We are proud to be of service by offering services that cut installation costs drastically, eliminate frivolous fees, define workable solutions, and reduce red tape to make Net Metering a realistic alternative – even for the everyday working Filipinos in socialized housing. “Sa halaga ng Iphone, kaya namin ipasolar ang bahay..for the next 25 years,” said Solaric CEO Mike De Guzman.

The History of Solar

A solar technician's hands screwing a bolt into a solar panel

In the past, it took months or years for a utility company or electric cooperative to grant a permit to install solar panels. Rejections were based on various “technical reasons” and there were even downright refusals by uncooperative electrical cooperatives. Now, however, under the restructured ERC and under Chair Agnes Devanadera, there is now a mandate for solarized homes as part of our nation’s answer to growing its energy supplies: Malinis na Enerhiya Mula sa Mamamayan, Para sa Mamamayan.

The Accessibility of Renewable Energy

Indifference, delays, and impunity of the giants no longer have a place because the consumers now have a victory. It is now by law that a permit has to be granted within 20 days. It is now a legal practice that “study fees” can no longer be charged by the utilities to go solar (Distribution Impact Study fees are now shouldered by the utilities). It is now cost-feasible for a factory worker to own a solarized Pag-Ibig funded home, and his wife can wash their clothes and cook food using solar energy with excess power to spare that gets sold to the factories via the utilities. Those installations by itself are small but give the biggest differences in quality of life. These are real economic opportunities now gained by millions of Filipinos.

The Future of Solar

A large number of solar panels scattered and organized in a field

We have to work smarter, use all available resources, and be wiser in the face of the climate change battle. Our fight is far from over as there are forces who do not want their “oligarch ways” challenged, but as sure as the sun comes up, we are working on transitioning our country from a coal-pa-more society to a newly industrialized nation who has its say on where and how it gets its energy.

ROOFTOP SOLAR: PROS AND CONS

ROOFTOP SOLAR: PROS AND CONS

Weighing the Advantages and Disadvantages of Rooftop Solar

The science behind rooftop solar

The science behind rooftop solar

The sun is known to be a powerful source of energy, having provided light and heat for thousands of years, shining energy that can be harnessed by installing solar panels on the rooftop. Fact tidbit: The energy that the sun provides our planet for one hour can fulfill the global energy needs of the planet for one year. This is why solar is now a very hot topic and is the most trending energy in renewables. It has a wide range of benefits and advantages, especially when compared to other sources of energy. Let us look closely and determine if the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The Advantages of Solar

The Advantages of Solar

  • Use a clean, safe, healthy, sustainable and renewable energy source

This is the most crucial and most important fact about solar. It is available daily every time the sun is out, and we will not run out of sunlight for at least another 5 billion years.

  • Pay lower electricity costs

No matter which part of the world you live in, if you go solar, you will harvest the sun’s energy whenever the sun is out. As a result, you will use less power from the grid, and this translates to lower electricity expenses. The size of your solar panel system will determine how much savings you will experience. Additionally, if you go solar with a grid-tie system, you can get credited for the excess power generated by your system. This power, which is exported to the grid, will translate to even more savings.

  • Protect the planet

When you are on solar, you will be using power from a clean energy source. This means you will not be contributing to the burning of fossil fuels. In other words, this means you will have a lower carbon footprint. In essence, you are helping the rest of the world battle climate change and global warming with reduced greenhouse gas emissions. In simple words, you are helping to save and protect the planet.

The Disadvantages of Solar

The Disadvantages of Solar

  • Cost

In the past, purchasing a solar panel system was expensive. Equipment prices were high and typically included: solar panels, batteries, inverters, wires, installation, and more. Now, however, with further advancements in solar technologies, other types of systems have become more popular and batteries are no longer necessary in grid-tie systems. Solar panel prices have dropped down dramatically. This has paved the way for much lower costs of solar systems, making it more financially and economically feasible to purchase one outright.

  • Storage is still expensive

As mentioned, batteries are expensive, and they are required for energy storage. In power-starved areas or in areas where grid power supply is intermittent, then off-grid systems or hybrid systems are more ideal. In such cases, batteries are required in order to store solar energy that cannot be collected during the night time. The prices of batteries have not decreased, despite increased demand in the market today.

  • Solar systems take up space and are heavy

Naturally, solar panels take up space and weigh about 20 kilograms each. Rooftop solar will only be ideal if the structural assessment of the roof is considered and recommended as viable.

Now that advantages vs. disadvantages have been explored, it is evident that the advantages of solar far outweigh the disadvantages in terms of substance and long-term results. Think about the benefits and the future generation.

READY TO GO SOLAR?

READY TO GO SOLAR?

8 Steps to Going Grid Tie Solar

The boom of solar in Asia

The Renewable Energy (RE) sector in Southeast Asia is booming. Installed capacity is expected to triple this year. The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia are kicking off the transition to renewables into high gear this 2019.

“Initial records from independent solar companies reveal that 2 Megawatts (MW) were installed in the year 2016, comprising of 473 net metered facilities. In 2017, this increased to 6MW. In 2018, the data reflected a cumulative figure of 19.6MW registered installs under Energy Regulatory Commission,” said Mike De Guzman, President of Solaric Corp. and President of Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA).

“Developers are constructing solar power plants all over the country, from mini to large scale. We expect them to be completed by 2020,” added De Guzman. “With the Philippines’ fast-growing energy demand, then the country’s power policies are bound to improve and be more pro-consumer, on top of incentives for solar PV development. In Indonesia, overall RE growth seems to be at a standstill because of uncertainty in policies. I’m confident that we will not find ourselves in the same boat.”

The solar rise residential

Millions of homes have already gone solar in the Philippines, and more and more homeowners are now considering going solar. If you are contemplating going solar, then you have probably researched solar panel installation systems and different solar companies. There are eight major steps that go behind a solar system installation. The Solaric Digital Squad has outlined a simple step-by-step guide for homeowners to make going solar easy for you.

Step One: Site Visit

Step One: Site Visit

A team of engineers needs to visit the site (residence or commercial facility) to evaluate various factors: roof type, roof condition, angle or slope, solar system type, structural foundation, electrical status, wiring, the electric bill, power consumption, daytime appliances, tapping point, and multiple other elements. The engineers will also take measurements.

Step Two: Selecting Equipment

After the site survey and assessment, a Site Survey Report will be prepared by the slew of energy professionals. The engineers will then turn over the report to the Sales Team, which will then be responsible for preparing a proposal with several options. The options include various brands and different solar equipment, which the homeowners will need to go over and select which option best suits their needs and goals.

Step Three: Contract Signing

Step Three: Contract Signing

The two primary components of a solar panel system are the solar panels and the inverters. Always consider efficiency, reputation, price, aesthetics, and durability when choosing solar equipment. After finalizing the option best suited for the homeowner, the contract is then signed and a go signal is given to the installation team.

Step Four: Permits

Step Four: Permits

There are logistical paperwork and documentation that go behind every solar panel system installation, just as with any major decision. These documents and permits may vary depending on the location or city and may include: Barangay Permit, Barangay Clearance, Permit to Install, Building Permit, etc. The solar company you choose may assist you with securing such permits, and it would be best if you select a solar partner who can offer this as part of their package.

Step Five: Installation

Step Five: Installation

Now that you’ve chosen your panels and inverters, your installation has been scheduled and your equipment is ready. The solar installers and electricians will begin by preparing your roof, then work on the electrical wiring, then install the racking and mounting structure, the panels, and inverters. The timeline for the installation varies, depending on the system size that you selected and the number of solar professionals working on your project.

Step Six: Energization

Step Six: Energization

This is considered to be the most exciting time of solar panel system installation: energization. It is the final step of going solar and it is your actual “Go Live” day. The solar team will conduct a final inspection, double-check, and verify everything in accordance with standard electrical codes and solar industry practices.

Step Seven: Interconnection and Net Metering

Step Seven: Interconnection and Net Metering

The process for Net Metering will now come into play, which will be mostly coordination between the homeowner, solar company, city hall, and utility company in facilitating and processing the requirements in order to obtain the approved Net Metering application. Once approved, the meter may be replaced. The grid-tie solar system is now officially interconnected to the grid.

Step Eight: Maintenance

Step Eight: Maintenance

Owning a grid-tie system is low maintenance. The recommended option is to simply have it professionally cleaned and thoroughly checked annually by solar experts.

EVEN THE DOGS LOVE SOLAR

Even Dogs Love Solar

A dog breeder from Laguna talks about how solar panels in the Philippines benefits his home and his business

David from Laguna

David’s 2-storey home stands in an exclusive, private, gated subdivision in Biñan City, Laguna, where he resides with his wife, two children, and househelp. On a typical day, the appliances that the household runs include a washing machine, dryer, aircon, television, fans, and refrigerator. The house is equipped with four air conditioning units, including the living room. In 2018, David’s electric bill amounted to approximately Php15,000 to Php16,000 each month.

Expenses started to pile up

Expenses started to pile up

However, David suffered a stroke during the summer of 2018. He could not continue working for his employer, so he passed on his work responsibilities to his eldest daughter. It was then that he started to notice the household expenses piling up. After exploring potential solutions, he decided to invest in a solar panel in the Philippines.

Finding the right solar company

Using the sun to run daytime appliances is a technological development and finding the right solar company involves various critical factors: the right size of the solar panel system, type of system, permits, design, engineering, equipment, installation, energization, cleaning, and maintenance. In a typical residential scenario, solar engineers should conduct a site survey, examine the electrical usage patterns and identify the appliances used by the home during the day and night time, determine the power consumption, and identify how much solar energy the roof can generate based on different factors and using precise computations. From there, they can forecast solar impact on electric bills with the desired solar panel system installation. It is important to find a solar company with a sterling reputation, backed by a long list of satisfied clients, along with years of experience in both residential, commercial, industrial, and military solar projects.

The choice to go Solaric

THE CHOICE TO GO SOLARIC

David contacted Solaric and requested a site survey. The solar professionals and engineers went to his home, examined the property, roof, solar capacity, and its surrounding area. They then evaluated the solar project potential or capability. The solar experts analyzed David’s string of recent electric bills. They determined the most appropriate solar panel installation for his home. They then designed a solar panel system that could produce enough power to meet the home’s consumption or usage and sent him a detailed proposal.

“Maraming solar companies ang tinawagan ko. Ang Solaric lang ang sumagot sa tanong ko. Immediately, umakyat sa bubong at binigyan ako ng layout,” said David about why he decided to choose Solaric Corp., the recognized leader in rooftop solar in the Philippines.

Solar panel system installation

David approved the quote from Solaric and initially installed a 5-kilowatt peak (kWp) grid-tie system of 20 solar panels on the roof. Once he noticed that there was a significant decrease in his bill, he called Solaric to install more solar on his roof.

“Para akong na-addict sa solar. Gusto kong ma ZERO out ang Meralco bill ko,” confessed David.

After installing more solar, David had a 9.6kWp solar system with a total of 30 solar panels on his roof. His electric bill gradually decreased through the months, until his Meralco bill finally became an average of only Php2,000 each month.

David was thrilled with the results and savings of his solar system. “Pang bili ko na ng gamot itong sobra. Sulit talaga magpakabit ng solar!”

Guilt-free AC

Guilt-free AC

On the side, David started a business of breeding Pomeranian dogs, which required round the clock aircon. He realized that installing solar was perfect for the business. “Walang guilt sa kuryente. Solaric is one of the best things that ever happened to me in my life.”

TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS REV UP THEIR SOLAR POWERED AUTO MALLS

TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS REV UP THEIR SOLAR POWERED AUTO MALLS

Solar panels in the Philippines have helped many companies save on energy consumption and aided mother nature’s recovery. Solaric has installed rooftop solar for three Toyota car dealerships to date: Camarines Sur (99.9kWp, 377 solar panels), Batangas (99.96kWp, 357 panels), and North EDSA (31kWp, 120 panels). The three facilities now have a combined total of 230.86 kWp, consisting of 854 solar panels, which now powers a significant chunk of its power requirements and daytime operations.

Toyota Camsur

The solar system of Toyota CamSur will incur savings of a minimum of Php1.2 Million each year. Energized in November 2017 with a projected ROI of 6.2 years, the CamSur dealership’s solar harvest was an average of 10,087-kilowatt-hours per month. In the duration of 17 months, that amounted to a total of 181,570 kWh. This translates to reducing its carbon emissions so that it offsets the carbon dioxide emissions that come from 70.3 tons of coal burned. This is also equivalent to saving 2,417 tree seedlings grown for 10 years, and 61 hectares of forests in one year.

Toyota Batangas

Toyota Batangas

On the other hand, the solar array in Toyota Batangas incurs savings of at least Php1.3 Million each year. Energized in June 2017 with a projected ROI of 5.72 years or less, the Batangas dealership’s solar harvest was an average of 9,968 kWh per month. In the duration of 22 months, that generated a total of 219,300 kWh. This translates to offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions that come from 84.8 tons of coal burned. This equates to saving 2,564 tree seedlings grown for ten years, and 74 hectares of forests in one year.

“It is most certainly a wise and sound investment for car dealerships, because of two major reasons. One: the system pays for itself in 5 to 6 years. Two: operational expenses are reduced. It’s a win-win all around,” says Mike De Guzman, President of Solaric Corp. “Hopefully, more business executives and entrepreneurs begin to see that going renewable and installing solar is not only good for their bottom line – it’s also good for the environment.”

Is your business eco-aware?

Is your business eco-aware?

Entrepreneurs and business executives consider solar panels for businesses with hesitation because they have little awareness and grasp of the market, advantages, and effects that the solar panels will have on the business. Despite being aware that numerous Fortune 500 companies are adopting a solar mindset and utilizing renewable energy, thousands of global companies are still wary about green initiatives and environmental efficiency. In today’s eco-aware world, business professionals need to start considering installing solar panels at some point in the near future – not only to become environmentally sound but because it is most certainly a strategic financial decision for the business.

Installing a solar panel system for the business is a wise, significant, one-time investment that provides energy savings for 25 years.

MORE THAN 2,000 SOLAR ROOFTOP HOMES LOWER THEIR ELECTRIC BILLS BY 30% TO 70%

Solaric Corp. Vice President Jade De Guzman said that plans to introduce solar panels in Philippine homes will help manage the rising costs of electricity.

“We envision a nation that is powered primarily by solar. The Philippines has sun – so it’s about time we utilize this free, unlimited, renewable resource to our advantage. We all want a greener and cleaner future, for ourselves and for the generations to come,” said De Guzman.

In the last six years, Solaric Corp. has boomed its way to explosive growth, becoming the nation’s leader in solar panel installation and rooftop solar PV systems. As the race for solar began in the country, the clamor for rooftop installations surged, and Solaric rapidly turned on the sun one rooftop at a time, climbing its way to the top of the Philippine residential solar market.

Let’s examine the figures

According to research data of Solar Digital Squad Philippines, Solaric accomplished over 2,000 rooftop installations nationwide and deployed over 6 Megawatts of solar, including Commercial, Industrial, and Military projects. Additionally, Solaric has trained over 5,000 individuals in the last six years on solar and its applications, through their trademark workshop training courses known as Solar101 and Solar202.

Startup businesses are sprouting from all over the nation with the intent of entering the country’s booming solar space. Yet, Solaric remains on steady, solar ground with consistent deployment of its solar panels, inverters, equipment and resources, always keeping up with industry trends and forces, and always one step ahead of its competitors. Now the household brand for solar, Solaric surpassed all other solar panel installation Philippines providers based on: capacity financed, installations, megawatts, and market share.

Solar market leader

Solaric services the market through tailor-fit turnkey solar solutions that manages everything from start to finish: engineering, design, supply, installation, energization, net metering, and aftersales support. Capitalizing from years of solar system installations, years of technical solar training, and years of serving as the solar resource experts for the corporate sector and key energy officers, Solaric has created a vast network of solar advocates, partners, and installers. This has cultivated its continued success and its own spot in the sunlight.

Number one goal is to reduce costs

Efficiency is the target bottom line. Homeowners need to identify their needs: Is there a need to lower monthly electric bills? Are you willing to make that one-time wise business and environmental investment? Do you want to increase revenue? Do you want to reduce your carbon footprint? Do you want to contribute to a safer, cleaner, and sustainable planet?

How to get started

The typical process begins with the homeowner sharing some of the essentials: daytime appliances used and amount of monthly electric bill. After validating their need for solar, a site inspection is conducted by solar engineers. The solar professionals now examine the site, roof, solar capacity, surrounding area, and evaluate the solar project potential or capability. They analyze the power bills of the past months. They determine the most appropriate solar panel installation for the home. They design a solar system that could produce enough power to meet the home’s consumption or usage. PV design is then prepared along with a site survey report and proposal. After discussion and contract signing, equipment delivery and installation ensues. The distinguishing factor of the Solaric team is that they assist you every step of the way – even in the application and processing of the Net Metering Program with the utility company. After energization, the after sales team takes over and provides maintenance services year on year. The entire process is technical but direct.

Choosing the right one

With the right solar partner such as Solaric, the focus will be on the homeowner: to provide clean sustainable energy systems that are economically sensible and environmentally sound. Solaric selects and builds solar panels in the Philippines that are affordable, energy efficient, reliable, cost-effective, and provides the best value to clients.

THE PHILIPPINES: ARE WE TURNING ON THE SUN?

THE PHILIPPINES: ARE WE TURNING ON THE SUN?

Shifting Gears Toward Clean, Sustainable, and Renewable Energy This 2019

Solar Digital Squad
Manila, Philippines
March 21, 2019

The solar industry in a nutshell

Solar power is beginning to play a massive role in delivering clean and safe energy to the world population. There are various giants at play in this industry. In countries like the Philippines, solar panel parts and accessories manufacturers market products such as inverters, mounting racks, batteries, energy storage systems, etc. Solar panel manufacturers make, develop, produce, and distribute solar panels. Solar installers offer a one-stop shop, or a turnkey solution for solar power systems from system design, engineering, installation, to maintenance and support. These are usually the top-of-mind names that the end consumers are familiar with.

Cost per click and cost per watt

Back in the day, business talks revolved around CPC, or cost per click. This 2019, discussions focus on Cost Per Watt. This is one of the most important metrics to know and understand because this is how to determine efficiency and production costs.

The key takeaway

The growth of the solar industry will continue. The International Energy Agency estimates that by 2022, global capacity will be between 1,000 and 1,300 gigawatts (GW), while GTM Research estimates global capacity at 871 GW by 2022. This can be summed up in one simple sentence: global solar demand will continue to rise over time.

Is climate change getting worse?

The entire planet is adversely affected by climate change, which is why various countries are embracing renewable energy, especially solar. Almost 100% of Iceland’s energy comes from renewable sources. Sweden has boldly declared its goal of eliminating fossil fuels. Germany runs on 20% renewable energy. Costa Rica has a target of being absolutely carbon neutral by year 2021. The Philippines has a longer dry season. Thus, we have more sunshine. What is our goal in the Philippines?

Who is the biggest pure-play solar installer in the Philippines?

Solaric is the recognized king of rooftop solar. Solaric has established its name across the renewable industry as a proven and reputable rooftop solar leader. Backed by decades of experience, Solaric has installed more than 50% of residential rooftop solar panels in the Philippines and has delivered significant cost reductions in electricity expenses, as well as milestone contributions to a cleaner, greener, and renewable future. Solaric is now becoming the recognized leader in corporate and industrial solar projects. The Solaric installers and engineers are well-known troubleshooting experts. They work hard to ensure that solar panel systems run efficiently and seamlessly so that everyone with rooftop solar can enjoy the benefits of clean and renewable power. Welcome to the new generation of solar and turning on the sun. For the future.
