3 STEPS TO GOING SOLAR: EASY AND SIMPLE WITH SOLARIC

3 STEPS TO GOING SOLAR: EASY AND SIMPLE WITH SOLARIC

Finally decided to turn on the sun and put Solaric in your roof? We got you! Even during the strictest community quarantines, our sales, technical, and installation teams did not falter to provide the best service in turning on the sun for Filipinos. Getting Solaric is not complicated and the #ZeroBill dream is definitely achievable with just these three easy steps to going solar:

Step 1: CALL SOLARIC

From simple energy saving tips, explaining how solar works, and up to building your dream solar energy system setup, our Solaric agents are trained to guide you every step of the way. You may reach us on our hotlines at 75040092, 09178603141 or 09083775577 or message us on our Facebook page. Our agents will typically ask you for your daytime appliances that you use, your monthly electric bill, roof type and location. From there, Solaric can already give you an initial system size recommendation and cost. Got questions about the clients, products, and services we feature on our Solaric Facebook page? Leave down your comments and a Solaric Facebook agent will surely attend to your inquiry.

Step 2: SITE SURVEY

Step 2: SITE SURVEY

To be able to finalize the residential or commercial solar project, a site survey is conducted to ensure a quality solar build. You may immediately request for a site survey from your Solaric agent and we will send a Solaric engineer at a day and time of your convenience. The site survey is free for sites within Metro Manila! From there, the engineer will have a thorough assessment of the facility: determine possible tapping points, roof condition angle, or slope, cable run, electrical system, and then a detailed survey report will be prepared to determine if the site is indeed feasible for a solar power system. A site survey report, quotation and PV layout with options that include various solar equipment brands will be sent to you 2 to 3 days after the site inspection.

Step 3: CONTRACT SIGNING & INITIAL PAYMENT

Once you have decided the best option suited for you on the proposal given, we can now proceed with the contract signing and payment terms.

Step 4: INSTALLATION

Once the 50% down payment is settled, the installation can now begin which may take a whole day or more, depending on the scale of the project. Energization and final system inspection whether the system meets the standard will follow afterwards, along with turnover!

Step 5: AFTERSALES

Our commitment in providing the best service to our clients does not end after the installation. If you encounter any problems or concerns with your solar system, feel free to give us a call and we will assist you through all issues and concerns. Solaric will also help you in the documentation and process of “Net metering” should you decide to apply.

HOW DOES HEAT AFFECT YOUR SOLAR PANELS?

HOW DOES HEAT AFFECT YOUR SOLAR PANELS?

With the recent temperatures reaching up to 45 degrees in some parts of the country, some people may wonder, how does heat affect their solar panels?

First, we have to understand how solar panels function. Although sunlight and heat are always correlated to each other, these two factors affect the performance of your solar energy system differently. While heat does not reduce the amount of energy harvested by your panels, it does have an impact on how energy is produced inside the cells. This is because solar panels generate energy through the sun’s light and not heat. In fact, the higher the temperatures, the lesser the efficiency of your solar panels which causes energy losses and a drop in your system performance.

Temperature Coefficient

Temperature Coefficient

A solar panel’s performance relative to a given temperature or temperature coefficient varies from brand to brand and is important in calculating an accurate production level of your solar energy system, which is why it is important to choose the best solar panels for your roof that will be efficient given the tropical climate of the Philippines. Most of the solar panels that Solaric offers has a coefficient between -0.35 to -0.5. The temperature coefficient will tell you how much power a solar panel loses for every 1° increase in temperatures above 25°C.

For example, a solar panel has a temperature coefficient of -0.35% per 1°C. So with every one-degree increase above 25°C, the solar panel’s efficiency will decrease by 0.35%.

Reducing the heat’s effects

Reducing the heat’s effects

The effects of heat on your solar energy system is inevitable especially during the summer when the heat is on its peak which is why it is important to look for an experienced and knowledgeable solar provider that will correctly install solar panels in your roof. The right installer will install panels at the right angle to make sure you will still be able to harvest the maximum sunlight as possible while allowing a convective air flow to cool the panels. They can also provide you multiple options on solar panels, inverter brands and system size system that will allow you to enjoy your solar energy system at its fullest. Another tip is to apply ceramic paint coats on your roof. These are just some of the tips you should know to answer the question “How does heat affect solar panels?”

WHY SOLARIC SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT INVESTMENT

WHY SOLARIC SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT INVESTMENT

With the temperatures rising more than 40 degrees Celcius lately as we hit the peak of summer, it is impossible to not turn on the aircons and blast the heat away. With the recent announcement of yet another electricity hike for this month, can we still avoid the dread of the impending monthly electric bill? Is it time to consider Solaric as your next investment?

The Philippines has always been plagued by unstable electricity rates – one of the highest rates in Asia. The latest news of the electricity rates going up again for two consecutive months is due to the thinning supply of the Luzon grid, which is caused by the higher demand of people staying and working at home due to the pandemic, and also caused by the vast heat we are currently experiencing. Every year, this is the same vicious cycle – which is exactly what our wise solar enthusiasts have on their mind when they decide to cut the chase and invest in solar.

No more tipid, no more tiis

No more tipid, no more tiis

Even during the pandemic and community quarantines, Solaric clients with rooftop solar systems were able to maximize the potential of the sun’s energy without breaking a sweat – even during the bill shock crisis of 2020. They are the ones that have prepared for the worst case scenario and reaped the benefits of their solar investment.

When you have a grid tie solar system, the solar becomes the first priority power to be used by your daytime appliances. If you have a grid tie and opt for net metering, any excess energy generated by your solar energy system is exported to the grid and converted to credits. This setup can hugely offset your nighttime and weekend power consumption. Solaric clients have their own personal power plants on their rooftops. They produce their own power, and will benefit from the Solaric investment for the next 25 years or more – plus they have a lower carbon footprint, lower monthly electric bills, and help protect the environment.

ZERO BILL AND NET METERING

ZERO BILL AND NET METERING

#ZeroBill will never be possible for Grid Tie solar system owners without net metering. Why?

Let’s define ZeroBill home

Let’s define ZeroBill home

Solaric always gives their clients all plausible options for their solar needs. We offer basic, premium, first-class and the ultimate #ZeroBill build. But with this summer heat and endless quarantine seasons, a lot of people are looking for the ZeroBill option for the long run.

A #ZeroBill home is a household with an electric bill of ZERO each month. Yes, zero pesos – and it is a fact, not a myth. Referred to as a net-zero home or a zero-energy building, a zero bill happens whenever you have a bigger system that supplies more power than what you consume. To make this possible, we need to oversize your initial recommended system 3 to 4 times. This will certainly take up more roof space (if not the entire roof), and budget, but in return, you do not have to pay a single centavo on your monthly electric bills for years to come.

Here comes net metering

A grid tie system, ZeroBill, and net metering will always co-exist with each other. With a grid tie system, you solar is interconnected to the grid so that energy trading can happen and apply for net metering program with your utility company to earn credits for your night time and heavy weekend consumption. By selling so much excess energy, the credits become extremely profitable and pile up which can later be translated to a #ZeroBill!

Solaric will also help you in the process of “Net metering” should you decide to apply. Our commitment in providing the best service to our clients does not end after the installation. If you encounter any problems or concerns with your solar system, feel free to give us a call and we will assist you through it.

2021 TIPS: MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR SOLAR THIS SUMMER!

2021 TIPS: MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR SOLAR THIS SUMMER!

A lot of people have something to look forward to every summer. Even though we are still dealing with the pandemic, solar homeowners are beyond excited about the benefits that the summer will bring for their solar systems.

Do your stuff when the sun is out

To get the most out of your solar this summer, make sure to use your heavy appliances like washing machine, dryer, or pumps during the daytime or in the middle of the day when the energy production is at its peak. Make use of your air-conditioning units during the day when the sun is out, to cool your home interior. Enjoy guilt-free AC brought to you by your solar.

Apply for net metering

Any excess energy generated by your solar energy system can easily be converted to credits, which can hugely offset your nighttime and weekend energy consumption through the “net-metering program”. With the grid tie system, you get to use the solar as the main source of the house’s energy during the daytime. You get to become your own power producer. A typical grid tie solar system can last for more than 25 years and what happens if you fill your entire roof with solar panels? #ZeroBill!

Take note

Take note

Although summer is rich in daylight goodness, always remember that the heat also affects the solar performance which is why it is important to make sure that your solar system is in optimal condition. Check whether your solar panels need cleaning and if everything is working properly through online monitoring provided by your inverter or physical inspection. Remember, the solar system generates electricity through sunlight and not heat. The hotter the temperature gets, the less efficient your solar panels will be. Get in touch with your solar provider in case you observe something unusual. Do this to ensure that you maximize the benefits of the summer for solar systems.

THE SHIFT TOWARDS A RENEWABLE LIFESTYLE

THE SHIFT TOWARDS A RENEWABLE LIFESTYLE

With the increasing interest in solar by homeowners whose priority is to reduce their monthly electric bills, business owners are also taking their steps to minimize their energy expenses and pave way for the awareness in climate change. From simply switching to eco-bags and utilizing whatever space they have for solar, truly we are on the way to leading a shift towards renewable lifestyle for Filipinos and creating an environment-friendly and sustainable future.

Planning from the start

Even during the pandemic, our sales, engineering, and installation teams were continuously working to provide the best services to our clients. Our clients are not only limited to residential homeowners but also commercial and industrial establishments like hospitals, manufacturing plants, schools, among others, that are eager to turn on the sun. These are not limited to existing homes or buildings, but also an option for sites under construction. Solaric is routinely consulted to make out the right solar economics for the commercial and industrial owners.

Incorporating solar-ready design in homes and establishments can help lessen construction costs from the start. Usually, the owners approach the architects and contractors to inquire about solar or call us ahead of time to collaborate with their architects or contractors to make their establishments solar-ready. By planning early, the solar technology can easily be integrated and optimized to the site’s maximum potential. This would also make the solar installation easier as simple as plug and play, in case the client has a tight budget and doesn’t allow the installation of the PV system at the current time.

Choosing a Solar Company

Make sure to find a solar provider who offers the all-in-one solution: engineering, design, supply, delivery, installation, energization, and good aftersales. Look for a good solar company with proven track record and experience that will provide you with the right solar energy system suitable for your needs. The shift to a renewable lifestyle starts now!

GEAR UP THIS SUMMER: LIKE A BOSS

The Philippines has one of the highest electricity rates in Asia, not to mention that we sit in the tropical region and face tremendous heat during the summer. With everyone practically staying at home due to the enhanced community quarantine and the heat, it’s almost impossible to not turn on the aircon. However, if you had solar on your rooftop, you’d totally turn on that AC, and gear up #LikeABoss.

Solar enthusiasts with solarized homes have reaped its benefits throughout the gap year of 2020, and continue to enjoy a worry-free summer this 2021.

More sun hours, more power!

More sun hours, more power!

Your solar energy system works by harvesting energy from sunlight. Summer brings more of this light due to longer daylight hours which means you have more time to enjoy its benefits. According to Bong, one of our clients whom we have recently interviewed, “Everything is good as long as we make it happen between 8am to 5pm. If there’s sun, there’s power.”

Even though Bong runs 5 air-conditioning units for almost 20 hours each day, he only pays about Php 5,000 to Php 6,000 a month. That’s equivalent to savings of Php 10,000 to Php 14,000 per month!

Grid Tie System and #ZeroBill

Having a grid tie system means that your solar system is interconnected to your electrical grid. It uses solar as the first priority power to be used to cover your daytime usage and is the most common type of solar energy system in Metro manila because It has more stable grid supply and does not need any batteries to run. Any excess energy can be exported to the grid through the “Net-metering program” which can be converted into credits and used to offset your night time and weekend energy usage. Through this, the ultimate goal of #ZeroBill or a zero-energy building can also be achieved when you produce more power than what you consume. Gear up #LikeABoss now with solar energy.

How to get a #ZeroBill:

How to get a #ZeroBill:

  1. Maximize your roof space by investing in the biggest solar system possible.
  2. Apply for net metering so that you can export the excess power produced by your system.
  3. Invest in inverter and energy-saving appliances.
  4. Use power wisely during the daytime.
  5. Call Solaric for the ultimate #ZeroBill solution!

SOLARIC BRINGS YOU UNLI AC: FOR THE HOME AND THE HOME BUSINESS

SOLARIC BRINGS YOU UNLI AC: FOR THE HOME AND THE HOME BUSINESS

Life is really good when you turn on the sun. This is the case for Bong, one of our clients residing in Parañaque City, who decided to make the decision to install a solar system on his rooftop while the house was undergoing renovations, giving him unlimited AC for his home and business.

Watch the video here!

The journey to solar

He installed a 6.4kWp Grid Tie System in 2020, using #LGSolar panels. Fast forward a year later, the household of six people is on all-out power usage and consumption with 5 aircons practically running all day (average of 20 hours daily). If the home weren’t on solar, the monthly electric bill would run up to 16k and 18k. Bong and his wife are WFH, and their daughter Mika runs her #SoeurCookies business from the house. Yet, their monthly electric bill is ONLY Php5,000 to Php6,000!

LG Solar Option

Bong chose LG Solar panels, because of the 25-year warranty and because of the brand. He wanted Tier1 solar panels that guaranteed power output, efficiency, AND reliability – so he opted for LG Solar.

Lower Bill vs Zero Bill

Lower Bill vs Zero Bill

Do you want to reduce your bill? Or do you want to ELIMINATE your bill? At the bare minimum, you should put enough solar to cover the usual daytime appliances of the entire household. It’s time to cope with the growing home energy demands with all these stay-at-home activities and get unlimited AC for your home or business.

Go Green, Go Renewable

When you get your own solar power plant on your rooftop: you reduce your electric bill expenses AND you reduce your carbon footprint – which means that you are helping protect the environment. A typical Solaric system eliminates more than four tons of CO2 per year which is equivalent to planting 50 trees each year.

IS SOLAR WARRANTY IMPORTANT?

IS SOLAR WARRANTY IMPORTANT?

A good solar system should last for up to 25 years or more. That is indeed a long time and unexpected instances may cause disruptions on how your system operates which is why it is important that you are aware about good solar system warranty.

Solar Warranties

Solar Warranties

Just like any product you buy in the market, a solar warranty protects you from your solar investment and makes sure that you have something to uphold for your return of investment as your system generates power every year.

A typical grid ties system has a 25-year performance output guarantee. This means that the energy production and harvest capability should not drop below a certain degradation percentage. Once your solar system reaches 25 years, it does not necessarily mean that it’s dead and not functional. Your system would still work adequately but bear in mind that panels may have degraded over time thus resulting in 10% to 20% reduction in efficiency and harvest. Solar panels will continue to work as long as they are not physically damaged by external forces.

Meanwhile, solar panels typically offer 12 to 25 years in terms of product warranty, depending on the brand. Solar panels will continue to work as long as it is not physically damaged thru any external forces. Inverters have 5 years of warranty. Solaric offers 1-year warranty for the installation and workmanship.
