How do we make your AIR really SAFE? When symptomatic or asymptomatic carriers occupy an enclosed area, there is a build up of pathogenic particles in the air. DEBUNKING SOLAR MYTHS

There are a lot of speculations about solar – especially for beginners. Here are some of the solar myths we usually get from our Facebook clients, debunked by none other than the Solaric experts!

MYTH #1: SOLAR PANELS WORK BETTER WHEN IT’S BRIGHT AND HOT OUTSIDE.

One of the best advantages of solar system is that it is not affected by external temperature, in a sense that it does not affect the sunlight gathered by the solar panels. The sunlight, or the sun’s rays of light, is responsible for the energy produced inside the cells of the solar panels. In fact, higher temperatures can cause energy or system loss because solar panels create electricity through the sun’s light and not heat thus, high temperature hampers electricity production since energy is being transformed into heat and not electricity.

MYTH #2: SOLAR PANELS DO NOT WORK WHEN IT’S CLOUDY.

When it is cloudy, it does not automatically mean that your solar system ceases its production. During cloudy or rainy days, solar production is reduced by 60-75% due to limited sunlight.

No need to worry about any disconnections or blackouts caused by this limited production since a grid tie system is seamlessly connected to the grid, which means that if your solar can’t produce the energy needed, you will automatically get your electricity from the grid. Remember, with a grid tie system, you get the best of both worlds.

MYTH #3: SOLAR IS TOO EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH IT.

The prices of solar continue to decline every year making it more affordable for the general population. For example, the basic package of Solaric for a 1.56kW starts at Php 105,000 now, compared to last year’s price which was much higher. You don’t have to feel guilty about using your aircon during the summer or cause a huge budget strain in paying your electric bills because your solar system is there to help you out.

When no one is around to consume this energy or if your grid tie system produces more power than what you consume during daytime, the surplus power can be exported and sold to the grid through the “net metering” program. MYTH #5: SOLAR WORKS EVEN DURING BROWNOUTS.

With a grid tie system, it is impossible for your solar system to work during brownouts since this type of system is interconnected to the grid. However, with a hybrid solar system, you can integrate batteries to give you the energy security you need during brownouts. Your solar panels will charge the batteries during daytime and the energy stored can then be used during night time or emergencies. Batteries are expensive and need to be replaced when it reached its maximum life cycle. Make sure to decide whether you are more inclined towards savings or towards energy security. The world has turned upside down this 2020. Everything is different. School is now in, but this school year is very, very different. With the COVID-19 threat lurking in every corner of the world, and lockdowns looming and ready to happen instantaneously, everyone is trying to adjust and adapt to the new normal. Assessment of your power consumption

Wondering how to choose the best solar system? The first step that our solar experts make is to study your power consumption. Let’s say we assume that your monthly electric bill reflects power consumption that translates to 50% daytime consumption. From there, we can provide a preliminary quote of the recommended for you.

The right system size or capacity

For electric bills that run up to about Php5,000, we can recommend a 3.12kWp system, which costs around Php168,000+. For bills that range from about Php10,000, we recommend at least a 5.46kWp solar panel system, which costs around Php268,000+. For bills higher than that, the minimum recommended would be a 10kWp system, which costs roughly Php550,000+.

Your daytime appliances

Are you a heavy aircon user or do you use only lights and electric fans during daytime? Using light loads during daytime like refrigerator, television, lights and electric fan may only require a smaller system, while using an aircon during daytime will immediately put your recommended system into 1kWp and above.

Site survey

There are numerous factors that come to play when we determine the most ideal system for you: roof space, type of roof, daytime appliances, roof layout, shading and other external factors. All these determine what type of solar panel system you should install. Engineers and solar experts are the ones that conduct site surveys. They go to your house or business, examine your roof and structure, your electricals, your monthly bills, and study your typical power consumption. Based on all these, they then prepare a solar photovoltaic (PV) system layout and a site survey report. At Solaric, we offer free site surveys within Metro Manila. What Happened During the Lockdown

In 2019, IQAir AirVisual listed the Philippines as the 57^th of 98 countries as the world’s most polluted countries. During the Metro Manila lockdown as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the environment of the Philippines’ capital witness less pollution levels.
