The millennial question

The question is simple. It encompasses the meaning of multiple things but it is posted in the form of two letters: HM? The questions behind those two letters are endless. How much? What is the ROI? What is the capital investment? How much do I save? Everyone wants to know the cost of installing solar panels in the Philippines. They want to know, by asking those two letters, which option is more feasible: to install a solar power system or to keep paying a monthly electric bill until the end of time.

Contemplation stage

Some put it off, and others decide to do it later or put money into another investment. But as certain as the sun that will rise the next day, we absolutely guarantee that those without a solar investment are committed to continue paying one of Asia’s highest electricity rates.

The pay-off is forever

There is a growing percentage of people who use technology to solve problems. Solaric has been installing solar panels for the past 5 years, and our first batch of customers have fully rewarded with ROI for their solar investment. They are now getting free power from the sun. We have seen the birth of the rooftop solar industry from pricey per watt fringe science to becoming the cheapest and most available energy source, because every consumer becomes a producer of power. Forever.

Talk about net metering

Solaric was the pioneer behind Net Metering. We installed solar in the very first homes that sold power back to the utility company via Net Metering. This is how we made the battery obsolete, and this is how solar power became way cheaper than your Utility cost. It is by sizing solar installations properly that the system can effortlessly power daytime loads, and therefore sell surplus power back to the utility company. At night, the homes run on export credits. Net Metering is something that Solaric handles and processes every single day for our customers, although it is not yet fully understood by the typical, casual consumer.

Go ahead and ask: HM?

For questions like “magkano, HM, ROI atbp”: We need to know some information before we can give an accurate answer – typical monthly electric bill total, usual appliances that run during daytime, roof space feasibility. For a technical thing like energy systems, Solaric conducts free site inspections within Metro Manila. The quintessential question of HM can range anywhere from P35k to the legal maximum of P6.5M (e.g. 99.9kWp net metered installation).

Need to explore options

Pichon and Athena Garcia were married in 2013. When they had their baby boy Thoren, major changes had to be made. Pichon and Athena had to spend most of their time at home. As a baby, Thoren had a lot of rashes and allergies. The doctors prohibited him from being out in the sun for a long period of time. When he was at home, he had to be inside an airconditioned room. Technically, the aircon in the house had to be on all day without having a solar system in the Philippines.

Deciding to invest

Deciding to invest

This happened at a time when Pichon and Athena just finished construction of their home. They had just started their family. They had a baby boy. “I thought having the aircon on all the time was something really expensive. I didn’t know if we could afford it,” said Athena.

They decided to consider installing solar. They were uncertain if it was something they could afford in the long run, but they decided to explore the solar alternative.

What Solaric offered

“Solaric checked our (electric) bill. They offered tailor-fit solutions specific to our needs. They patterned the number of panels they would install based on our monthly power consumption,” Pichon explained.

Solaric installed an off grid solar power system on the roof of the Garcia home, with six solar panels.

Benefits of solar

The results were amazing. The aircon runs all day now for Thoren. The household runs appliances all throughout the day every day without a shred of guilt.

“I can turn on the power anytime I want. We don’t have to worry about electricity!” exclaimed Athena, while playfully cuddling Thoren.

Something to talk about

Something to talk about

“Our friends are envious. On average, they spend about 20 to 30 thousand a month on electric bills. Then they get shocked when they find out our bill is only 5 thousand a month. They can’t seem to believe it. What? How?!” Pichon shares with us in animated fashion.

“And I tell them…we have Solaric,” Pichon adds, while pointing upward to the roof of their house.

“We advocate renewable energy of course. We love the fact that we save money and we save the environment too. That’s win-win all the way!” Athena smiles.

And that is the Garcia family secret – they turned on the sun. So why don’t you do it too?
