Importance Of Renewable Energy Companies In The Philippines For Businesses

Importance Of Renewable Energy Companies In The Philippines For Businesses

What is the importance of renewable energy companies in the Philippines?

  1. Helps to improve your business’s marketability
  2. Achieves public relations boost
  3. Improves distribution of service
  4. Helps to gain more profit and return on investment
  5. Reduces your company’s carbon footprint

There have been growing concerns about the irreversible impacts of climate change. Fortunately, there is now a growing understanding regarding how cleaner energy sources can lead to a more sustainable future. Today, more and more Filipino consumers are pushing to transition to renewable energy to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change. As such, industries are looking to partner with renewable energy companies in the Philippines to pave the path for more sustainable production.

According to a report, the energy consumption of industrial sectors reached around 20.73 thousand gigawatt hours in 2020 alone. Such large amounts of energy consumption, and in particular the burning of fossil fuels, is the major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Industries will not function without electricity, but they can use a cleaner energy alternative from renewable energy companies in the Philippines.

It’s clear that we need smarter solutions to combat this global crisis. Let’s take a look at how renewable energy companies can benefit your business when you use solar panels and other eco-friendly energy sources.

Helps To Improve Your Business’s Marketability

As we mentioned earlier, the new generation of Filipino consumers is raised to be much more environmentally and socially conscious about our environment. That’s why they care more about the company’s background rather than the products it sells on the market. They support businesses that care more about nature and people.

Therefore, switching to renewable energy helps your business generate more consumers that will, later on, improve your business marketability.

Achieves Public Relations Boost

Boosting your business helps to attract more consumers, but it’s only achievable when you come up with smart business decisions and strategies. Going green is a great solution to achieve much-needed public relations to boost. It helps your business to go above and beyond to outstrip your customers’ expectations.

Hence, choosing to partner with renewable energy companies in the Philippines over any traditional energy providers can attract your consumers to choose your business over your competitors.

Improves Distribution Of Service

As a business owner, you want to make sure that your employees, customers, and your business place always have access to energy. However, in the event of weather, they will likely experience a bad service interruption, unable to operate, receive customer complaints, and lose money.

Depending on renewable energy, and in particular, hybrid solar panel setups, makes your service to your customers more stable. Clients who are leaning more into energy independence and security during outages can install batteries to their solar systems. The energy stored can be used during night or as power backup. This makes all the difference when your competitors are down due to power interruption.

Helps To Gain More Profit And Return on Investment

Using the power of the sun by installing solar panels on the rooftop allows your business to receive more profit and investment in the long run. Solar panels last up to 25 years and your business’s unused energy can be sold back to the grid which is a great advantage on your part. Imagine how much money you can save from the coveted Zero Bill and how much ROI you can achieve!

Reduces Your Company’s Carbon Footprint

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) released a 2022 statement that the world must cut emissions by 45% to avoid global catastrophe. The alarming issue of carbon footprint calls for collective action. That’s why many businesses are switching to renewable energy to cut down their carbon footprint. In addition, depending on the power of the sun is the best and easiest solution that a business can do to quickly achieve carbon footprint reduction. Hence, you’re leaving a good impression on your consumers that you’re up for eco-friendly solutions.

Our solar panels are one of the most affordable solar panel systems in the Philippines. You can choose the right solar panel for your household by computing your average electric consumption for the past three months.

The good news is that the cost of solar panels is continuously decreasing year after year because of better manufacturing costs, less labor, government solar incentives, and lower installation costs. All these savings are ultimately passed on to the end consumer.

Factors that Affect Solar Panel Cost

Remember that solar panel costs are also affected by various factors:

Roof Features

The features of your roof such as the materials they’re made of, structure, and condition affect the solar panel installation cost. Check the features of your roof to make sure that it can withstand the weight of solar panels. This is because some roof features can’t hold the weight of solar panels.

Solar Panel Size

It takes extensive planning to install solar panels on your rooftop. When the solar panel’s size is bigger, you can expect that the solar panel cost can increase.

Also, the size of the solar panel will depend on your average monthly electricity consumption. It’s ideal to get the most cost savings by checking your monthly bill to get the correct solar panel size you need for your energy consumption.

Weather And Shading

The environment where your solar panels would be installed is very critical to consider. The weather and shading surrounding your rooftop will greatly impact the number of solar panels needed. That’s why make sure that your location is exposed to the full sun.

Solaric is the leader in rooftop solar

When Is The Time To Take Advantage Of Solar Energy Price In The Philippines?

When Is The Time To Take Advantage Of Solar Energy Price In The Philippines?

This 2022, some business owners and homeowners in the Philippines are considering rooftop solar panel systems in their properties. However, there are still some that hesitate because of their little grasp of the solar panel setup process and solar energy. In fact, thousands are still wary of adopting renewable energy because of limited knowledge about solar energy price in the Philippines.

In today’s solar-conscious environment, it would be wise for business professionals and homeowners to consider going solar. Why? The rationale is simple. Going solar offers solid cost savings, increases property value, and protects the environment by lowering carbon footprint. What’s more is that there is a certain time to take advantage of solar energy price in the Philippines — and that is during the summer season in the country and NOW. Continue reading to learn why.

Take Advantage of Solar Energy Price in the Philippines Now

The latest data shows that solar energy price in the Philippines has declined drastically and continuously during the past years. The cost of solar PV systems was cut down by 48.4% in 2011. In 2021, solar PV continued to drop by more than 80% compared to 2011 prices. The global residential solar panel system prices dipped to as low as $3/W too.

According to another study, for a household consuming an average of 300 kWh/month, the price for solar energy is less than P1/month.

The adoption of solar is expected to boom in the upcoming years with this declining solar energy price in the Philippines. The drop in solar energy in the Philippines is due to various market factors, including:

Better manufacturing techniques and panel design

Innovative manufacturing techniques have been a major driving force behind the decline in solar energy prices in the Philippines. In recent years, solar panel designs became more compact and efficient, requiring fewer resources overall. Mounting systems offer ease of use and solar panel installation was made easier as well. As a result, solar manufacturers were able to pass the savings to end consumers through lower prices. ‍

Lower solar installation equipment cost

A majority of the reduction in solar energy prices in the Philippines comes from the decline in installation costs.

The lower energy price in the Philippines includes installed costs. This means the cost includes everything needed for a solar panel setup, including, the panels, the mounting systems, and the installation itself. As said earlier, modern solar panels are more compact than ever. These are easier to install. Panels costs are steadily falling as well.

Government solar incentives

It’s a known fact solar energy helps you save on electric bills, while increasing property value and protecting the environment. Is that not enough reason for you to take advantage of solar energy prices in the Philippines? The Philippine government is encouraging citizens to make the big solar switch through incentives.

The legislation of Republic Act (RA) 9153 or the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 pushes for the use of solar energy in the Philippines. Under the legislation, companies are offered a variety of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, including:

  • Income tax holiday (ITH)
  • Income tax reductions and zero VAT incentive
  • Tax and duty exemptions on imported spare parts
  • Support from financial institutions
  • Simplified customs procedures

National agencies are tapping both local citizens and foreign investors to switch to solar as an energy source.

Take Advantage of Solar Energy Price in the Philippines During The Summer Season

Take Advantage of Solar Energy Price in the Philippines During The Summer Season

Situated right above the equator, the Philippines is a tropical country blessed with plenty of sunlight throughout the year. But once the summer heat rolls in, so do the electric bills. To exacerbate this problem, the high dependence on fossil fuels has led to rotational blackouts. Once the megawatt demand peaks, a shortfall in energy supply takes place to preserve grid stability.

Rolling blackouts in the Philippines also commonly happen during the hottest months when there are water supply shortages, disrupting the lives of millions in more ways than one. Fortunately, turning on the sun can solve the country’s energy woes and you and your family beat the summer heat with affordable solar energy prices.

Solar energy reduces dependence on fossil fuels. What’s more is that surplus energy produced by your grid tie solar energy system can be credited through net metering, offsetting your electric bills even more.

It’s more convenient to take advantage of solar energy prices in the Philippines once the summer heat is about to come to prevent you from receiving high electricity bills.

How To Pick The Right Rooftop Solar Power Plant In The Philippines

Picking the right rooftop solar power plant for household or commercial use is not easy, but there are only three types of solar power plants that you can choose from. They’re the grid-tie, off-grid, and hybrid.

Grid-tie solar power plants are the most commonly used rooftop solar power plant in the Philippines. They interconnect with an existing grid and do not use batteries to function, which allows you to use power from the grid at night or when you use more electricity. These are ideal for those who are residing in Metro Manila since there’s a consistent power source. Most of our clients install Grid Tie systems.

Unlike the grid-tie solar power plants, these Off-Grid and Hybrid systems come with batteries, which allow you to maximize and store excess energy. They are ideal to use for areas with unstable power grids since they can provide solutions for nighttime consumption or on those days when the harvest is not enough power supply.

Picking the right rooftop solar power plant is time-consuming, especially since there are many companies offering solar power plant installation. Therefore, you should consider going solar by choosing an established, reputable, and experienced solar power plant company in the Philippines to properly execute your rooftop solar power plant installation — go solar with Solaric and let’s turn on the sun together for a brighter and sustainable future.

4 Benefits Of Solar Plants In The Philippines For Hospitals

4 Benefits Of Solar Plants In The Philippines For Hospitals

What are the benefits of solar plants in the Philippines for hospitals?

  1. Solar plants will slash the electric bills of hospitals
  2. Enjoy the good return on investment
  3. Protects the environment
  4. Supports the pursuit of universal healthcare

The Philippines remains highly dependent on fossil fuels and coal, which results in higher electricity bills and pollution. And the hotter temperatures of the tropical country lead to even higher electricity bills – a vicious cycle that we can solve through solar plants in the Philippines.

A solar power plant utilizes sunlight to acquire energy. As solar energy is renewable, it can be used to power up homes, businesses, and even hospitals. Solar panel setup in the Philippines reduces the dependence on fossil fuels, which makes it more sustainable.

Hospitals rely on machinery to take care of their patients. The promise of a more sustainable and low electricity bill for hospitals can’t be found in other energy sources. This is why it’s a wise choice to go solar. Below are the # benefits of solar plants in the Philippines for hospitals. You already have an opportunity to be your own energy producer using your very own rooftop!

Solar Plants Will Slash The Electric Bills of Hospitals

Solar Plants Will Slash The Electric Bills of Hospitals

Hospitals in the Philippines have some of the largest energy demands. Healthcare facilities need to power all their medical equipment, air-conditioned rooms, common areas, elevators, and lighting 24/7 to support the needs of their patients. This results in sky-high utility costs for hospitals today. Hospitals are also more vulnerable to increasing fuel prices. Through the help of solar plants in the Philippines, hospitals are able to meet their energy needs in a very cost-efficient way.

The grid tie system of solar plants utilizes solar energy as the priority power during the daytime, which lessens the reliance on electricity from the grid and slashes your electric bills.

What’s more is the excess energy produced by the grid tie solar system that is not used during the day is automatically exported. The surplus energy is exchanged for credits through net metering, easily offsetting the hospital’s nighttime power usage.

Installing solar plants in the Philippines for hospitals can result in the coveted Zero Bill! This way, hospitals can invest more in patient care-related equipment.

Enjoy The Good Return On Investment

Throughout the country, malls, buildings, schools, warehouses, and other industrial facilities are installing rooftop solar. Why? The rationale is simple. For the first 5 years, facilities powered by solar plants will achieve a return on investment (ROI). And in the following 20 years, the facility will profit from the investment.

Going solar with Solaric is a smart, one-time investment that provides hospitals in the Philippines energy savings for 25 years. After solar panel setup, hospitals can benefit from free electricity in the long term.

Protects The Environment

Protects The Environment

According to reports from 2014 to 2015, the Philippines’ healthcare system emitted about 5.22 million metric tons of carbon dioxide. Hospitals account for a majority of greenhouse air pollutants that harm people’s health. The entire world is suffering from the negative impacts of climate change, which is why hospitals across the globe are embracing solar plants.

According to IRENA Capacity Statistics in 2017 there were around 21,000 healthcare facilities that relied on solar PV worldwide. With the Philippines having a long dry season from December to May, we have more sunshine to run on renewable energy.

Of course, having solar plants in the Philippines, not only benefits hospitals. These also protect the environment. Renewable energy reduces carbon footprint, which in turn, reduces the adverse impacts of climate change. When compared to other energy production systems, solar does not generate waste or pollution.

Provides Reliable Health Services

As mentioned earlier, hospitals heavily rely on electricity. In areas of the country where there is no electricity, proper healthcare services cannot be provided. Solar plants in the Philippines can also benefit the pursuit of universal healthcare as a human right.

Setting up solar plants is a sustainable and cost-efficient way of providing energy to hospitals in the Philippines, and reliable healthcare services. This is how hospitals and the public healthcare sector will reap the benefit of solar plants, and their ability to save lives.

4 Factors To Know About Rooftop Solar Panel Installation

The benefits of investing in a solar panel setup in the Philippines are clear. Installing a rooftop solar panel guarantees attractive financial returns. In the first 5 years, you achieve a return on investment (ROI). In the next 20 years, you profit. Going beyond profit, rooftop solar panel installation also plays a vital role in protecting the environment.

The number of homeowners and business owners that want to go solar is increasing this 2022. However, there is very limited knowledge about the rooftop solar panel installation process itself. What kinds of solar panels should you choose? Where is the ideal location for your home? What rooftop solar panel size will you get? Continue reading as we walk you through the most important factors to know about rooftop solar panel installation.

#1: Sunlight distribution on the roof

#1: Sunlight distribution on the roof

Anyone who’s intending to install a rooftop solar panel should check the sunlight distribution. Solar panels perform better in areas with wide sunlight coverage. If there are any trees that will shade the solar panels, it would be best to cut them to ensure the best solar harvest.

 #2: Features of your roof

It’s critical to determine the features of your roof by installing a solar panel. Is it sturdy enough to carry the extra weight of solar panels? The distributed weight of 1 solar panel is about 20 kg. It’s best to consult a technician instead of estimating your roof capacity.

Is it made of materials that make rooftop solar panel installation easier? Metal roofing is the best roof type for installing solar panels because mounting brackets are only drilled into the trapezoidal protrusion of the roof, while wooden roofing is too brittle and presents a fire hazard.

Keep in mind the efficiency of a solar panel can depend on the different features of your roof. Consider these things before installing a rooftop solar panel:

  • Roof material
  • Roof weight capacity
  • Roof condition
  • Roof pitch

#3: Choice of Installer

#3: Choice of Installer

Make sure you choose a reputable rooftop solar panel installer. High-quality rooftop solar panels can only be installed by a company that is backed by years of experience. #4: Define Your Savings Goals

https://solaric.com.ph/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/What-exactly-is-a-ZeroBill.jpg

Define how much savings you want. Are you looking at saving 30% or 50%? Or, are you looking to achieve that Zero Bill

Different properties use power differently. There are some facilities that use power throughout the whole day. Some households have no one staying in their house during the day, which is why most power consumption happens at night. You can analyze your power consumption patterns.

Once you calculate your daily kWh power needs, just divide it by the Peak Sun Hours of your location. Get the kW output. From there, you will know how many solar panels you need and design a system that achieves your savings goals.

Key Takeaway

ZERO BILL: THE LAMBO OF SOLAR BUILDS

ZERO BILL: THE LAMBO OF SOLAR BUILDS

Ever dreamed of not paying a single peso on your monthly electric bill? Good news! It is definitely not a dream anymore because here at Solaric, we make it possible.

What exactly is a #ZeroBill?

What exactly is a #ZeroBill?

A zero bill is simply what is says: your monthly electric bill is a zero. In other words, in that section where your balance due is indicated, the amount is exactly Php0.00.

Is it actually possible?

Sometimes, homeowners are interested in going solar and they install a small sized system or an average sized system (in relation to their monthly power consumption). Their monthly electric bills decrease from 30% to 80%, and they are thrilled. There are some homeowners, however, that decide to install an extra large solar panel system. This is what is referred to as the Zero Bill Build. When a homeowner installs a system three times the power production than their home’s power consumption, then the obvious result is that their solar offsets their daytime consumption. All the surplus power produced by their system is exported to the grid. The combination of these factors results in a zero or negative utility bill.

Making the choice

Some people purchase a car for convenience, or for affordability, or for efficiency. Such individuals will be seen in sedans or SUVs. Other people buy expensive cars, because they can, and because they know exactly what they want – and that’s where the pay-off lies. In the same way, a zero bill build system will be much more expensive. It will take up all your roof space. But imagine not paying a centavo on your electric bill on the long run, how fulfilling can that be? That is its pay-off.

Net metering comes to play

With a grid tie system, a zero bill is not possible if you don’t apply for net metering program with Meralco or your utility company. Through this program, you don’t only offset your daytime loads but also the night time loads. The tactic is to sell so much excess energy to the utility company that the credits you earn will offset your evening consumption.

A consumer and a provider

Going solar means you get to generate your own power. You use this harvested power for your daily needs and the bonus is you get to provide power for others while getting paid for exporting power. We constantly get yellow and red alerts which means there is insufficient supply of power on our grid. Our population continues to grow thus the demand for power increases.

“We must continue to explore other sources of energy. Gone are the days when we need to depend on coal and other non-renewable sources,” said Mike De Guzman, President and CEO of Solaric Corp. “The Philippines is blessed with the free, unlimited and abundant source of the sun’s energy. It’s clean, safe, sustainable and will continue to be accessible for the next 5 billion years – more than enough to pay for the system with a typical ROI of 5 years! Why waste it? It’s time to turn on the sun.”

WHY YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GET ROOFTOP SOLAR

WHY YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GET ROOFTOP SOLAR

Does solar make sense?

Does solar make sense?

Does solar make sense?

Homeowners, business owners, and entrepreneurs have varying opinions and technical knowledge of the solar industry. Although most are aware of the advantages of solar panels in the Philippines, there is little grasp on the market, its long-term effects, and the deciding factors that go behind large capacity solar systems. Hundreds of Fortune 500 companies have gotten onboard with renewable energy and adopting low carbon footprint energy sources. With the eco-aware planet of 2022, it is wise to start considering going solar ASAP – not just as a strategic financial decision but also to play your role in protecting the environment. Continue reading to learn why to get a rooftop solar.

Apple, Microsoft, Netflix

Yes, solar is not just for the big ones. Every household and business should invest and capitalize on solar. Everyone should take advantage of the renewable energy opportunities available now in the Philippines. Installing a solar power system is a key decision that guarantees a solid financial return. In the first five years after going solar, you will achieve return on investment. In the next twenty years that follow, you will profit. There are three main reasons why anyone goes solar: to go green, to save money, and to profit.

As long as you have a roof

Does solar make sense?

Any home or business with a roof can install solar and benefit from this low carbon source of energy: factories, warehouses, office buildings, cold storage facilities, restaurants, car dealerships, BPOs, schools, hospitals, and city halls. Once the home or facility has a solar panel system installed, the homeowner or business can register for Net Metering. Through the net metering program, they can sell their surplus solar energy to the grid (or to the utility company). With the grid tie solar panel system, it does not need batteries because the system blends utility power with solar power. The system is automatically synchronized. Bill reductions typically average between 30% to 80%, depending on the capacity of the solar power system. Installing a solar power system is a wise, strategic, significant, business decision and investment that provides energy savings for 25 years. In essence, it means free power in the long term.

“Every six square meters of solar panels on the roof can produce about 1,500 to 1,700 kWh of energy each year, which translates to the energy content in a barrel of oil. For those who want to be green, clean, and sustainable, then solar is the way to go,” said Mike De Guzman, President of Solaric Corp.

5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING SOLAR ON YOUR ROOF

5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING SOLAR ON YOUR ROOF

A Solar Checklist for Homeowners Who Want To Go Solar

Are you ready to go solar?

Are you ready to go solar?

This 2022 is all about homeowners going solar. It has become mainstream. The challenge, however, is the technical knowledge and understanding behind going solar. The number of homeowners who have owned a solar panel system throughout its entire life cycle is very limited. What kind of solar panels will you choose? Which solar panels are more efficient? What is solar harvest? Which solar inverter will you get? Will you get an on-grid or off-grid system? What size of solar system is ideal for your home? The cost of going solar continues to decrease, and this has led the rate of installations to increase. Let’s walk you through the more important factors to consider before you go solar.

#1: Can your roof support solar panels?

This is one major question to address. The distributed weight of one solar panel is approximately 20 kg. It is important to ensure that your home, in terms of structural capacity, can carry and support the weight of the panels. This can usually be assessed by structural engineers. Structural experts conduct an assessment of your roof and determine if it is in good shape, structurally. Solar systems usually come with performance guarantees of 20 to 25 years. It would make sense to ensure that your roof will not require repair, renovation, or replacement in the next few years, because the solar system would then have to be dismantled and reinstalled.

#2: Is there shading?

It is best to install solar on a roof that is unobstructed by surrounding trees. Solar harvest is at its peak when there is no shading on the solar panel system. If there are surrounding trees that will shade the panels, it is best to prune or trim them to ensure optimal solar harvest of your system.

#3: What type of system should you get: Grid Tie or Off Grid or Hybrid?

#3: What type of system should you get: Grid Tie or Off Grid or Hybrid?

Grid tie solar systems, otherwise known as On-Grid systems, are the most commonly used in homes and businesses in the Philippines today. Grid-tie or on-grid systems interconnect solar power with grid power. These solar systems do not use batteries because there is no need to store power. When it is daytime, the power is generated from the solar system, and during night time, the power comes from the grid. There’s another plus factor with a grid-tie system. When you use more electricity than your solar is producing, then you will start importing from the grid – in other words, you will be consuming electricity from the utility company. When you produce more power than you consume, the excess or surplus power generated can be exported to the grid using the Net Metering program of the utility company. The exported power is paid via credits, which can be used later on. Electricity sent to the grid from your solar system can then be used by other consumers on the grid (such as your neighbors). The Grid Tie system is the most ideal solar solution for homes within the Metro Manila area, because there is stable power from the utility company (Meralco).

There are, of course, some clients who require the reliability of instant backup power, that can only be provided by solar systems with batteries. With an off-grid solar system or hybrid solar system, you can maximize excess solar harvest by storing the power in the batteries for evening consumption. Batteries provide a buffer, for times when the sun is not enough and loads have to be continuously supplied with sustained energy. Off-grid systems or hybrid systems are usually for homes that have intermittent power, or are in energy-starved areas, where power is not stable.

The cost of solar systems that come with batteries is significantly higher than grid-tie systems.

#4: Which installer should you choose?

Naturally, you should choose a solar company that has a sterling reputation. It should be a company backed by years of experience. It should be a recognized leader in rooftop solar, one that is trusted with thousands of satisfied clients. There are logistics, procurement, electrical, and engineering components that come with a solar system installation. Experience, references, and credentials are all equally important when choosing the right solar provider.

#5: What is the ROI?

Before going solar, it is wise to run a benefits analysis or Return On Investment (ROI) analysis on the system cost. A solar system is an investment that pays for itself. Ideally, in the first five years from the time you purchase the solar system, you achieve ROI (in many instances, it is achieved in 2 to 3 years due to credits from Net Metering). In the next 15 to 20 years that follow, you will profit from your solar system. In other words, when you buy the system outright, it will keep working for you long after it pays off for itself.
