AIRSAFE CARE TIPS: HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR AIR PURIFIERS

AirSAFE units are packed with a lot of features to make sure that the air you breathe is safe especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. We want to make sure that you get the value of your money plus guaranteed safety for you and your family. To ensure that your AirSAFE units work for a very long time, and to maintain them in excellent condition, here are some maintenance tips from the Solaric Products team!

Pre-filter

Pre-filter

As the first line of defense of your AirSAFE units (except on the AS40 model), it is advisable to clean your pre-filter approximately twice per month to ensure that there are no large particles blocking the airflow. Clean the surface of the pre-filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it with water and dry it thoroughly afterwards.

Cellular-Activated Carbon, Cold Catalyst, Antibacterial Cotton, and HEPA filters

To maximize the lifespan of these filters, you may clean the dust from the front of the filter with a vacuum cleaner and place it in a ventilated area afterwards to allow harmful gasses and germs to dissipate. Remember not to use water to clean this filter and not to place it under direct sunlight as it is very delicate.

Air Outlets

Before cleaning the air outlets of your AirSAFE units, make sure to unplug and switch off the power first. Pull and lift the air grid to remove it, and use a clean cloth or feather duster to remove any dirt that may have accumulated.

Anion Purifier

To clean the anion purifier, use a #1 or #2 paintbrush, and/or a cotton swab, as a cleaning tool. Insert the brush from the ventilation window, just above the anion emission head, and regularly clean the dust all around the emission head.

Particulate Sensor

Remove the particulate sensor cover and periodically wipe the lens with a dry cotton swab to remove any dirt such as moisture, or residue from cigarettes as it can may cause the sensor to no longer work properly.

Some additional maintenance tips:

Always remember to turn off the unit and unplug the power cord before conducting any cleaning and maintenance to your AirSAFE units. Do not also try to use the machine without any filters inserted as it will not be able to remove the dust and will just accumulate inside, which may cause the unit to malfunction.

Replacing filters may vary from 3 to 6 months, or maybe sooner depending on where and how frequently you use machine. Although there is no exact replacement filter indicator, you might consider replacing them when the filtration is already not noticeable. MOUNTING SOLAR ON ROOFTOPS

No matter how efficient and expensive your solar panels and inverters are, everything is pointless if you do not have a good mounting system. Just how important are these steel bars to achieve that target goal of savings and energy security?

The Philippines faces a minimum of 20 typhoons a year, some of them are extremely powerful just like Typhoon Yolanda which led to the beginning of Solaric Corp. Although sometimes overlooked, solar mounting systems are important because that is how the solar panels connect the entire system to your roof. A good and properly built solar energy system should be able to withstand a 250kph winds, and should be able to hold the system to its location for 25 years or more. It also has to endure extreme heat and rain, as well as the additional weight carried by the panels on a regular or windy day.

Mounting racks in the Philippines are commonly installed on the following:

Rooftops – This is the most common way of solar residential installations and how Solaric came to be known as the king of rooftop installations. Rooftops may vary from GI sheet, shingles, clay tiles or roof deck installations, and may require different and additional mounting materials varying from case to case basis. Rooftop installations are more efficient since the solar panels are more exposed to sunlight and just sit on the rooftop. Thus the rooftop now has a dual purpose: to hold the solar panels in place and to shelter the house beneath it.

Ground – Compared to rooftop, ground installations are more accessible for installation, cleaning, and maintenance. Mounting systems on this type of installations usually use a foot and ballast or system. Blocks made from concrete are placed on the site to secure the panels without directly drilling or penetrating the ground or cemented roof deck in some cases.

Always look for quality

Regardless where the solar panels are going to be installed, it is important that the mounting system to be used is sturdy enough and can withstand any typical external forces. It is also worth noting to look for Solar professionals and providers, who will properly evaluate the site, give appropriate measurements and recommendations, and outstanding quality of workmanship. As a tropical country, the Philippines basks in an abundant amount of sunlight and shares 2 weather systems: summer season and the rainy season. Though it is easy and wise to go solar, how does the rain affect your energy harvest during rainy days? What happens to your solar energy system during the wet season?

Continuous rains, continuous production

Solar panels are able to generate energy due to the sunlight that is hitting its surface. Compared to a clear, bright, sunny day that contributes high energy production at its peak, rain reduces solar production due to the limited sunlight available.

A hybrid solar power system is basically a combination of a grid tie and off-grid solar setup. This type of system can provide you power during the night and during power outages. Typically, Solaric does not recommend hybrid setups in Metro Manila where grid is relatively stable.
