Solaric engineers in the early days of the pandemic decided to make their own air purifier for the COVID-19 threat internally when nothing can be found locally. In one of the strangest exercises of process engineering, we painstakingly analyzed viral dispersion, room airflow patterns, and the deadly numbers such as infectious viral load. Combining proven viral neutralization methods and making it portable in a self-contained unit called the AirSAFE.
The motivation in making project AirSAFE was not intended to be a commercial venture but for safety. We launched the Airsafe series of air purifiers with the safety of our coworkers and our families in mind, so we did not go cheap with the critical specs such as internal UV treatment, HEPA filtration, and really powerful motors. We also added particle/odor sensors so the user can see how the air is before and after treatment, and filter replacement reminder alarms.
In these past few months, our sales and product fulfilment teams had to mad scramble with the long wait lists for our products and even personally deliver to front liners, hospitals and health care workers. Thousands delivered and we even had to do workday Sundays because our doctors needed them without a minute more of delay.
